Crystalline at Goldeneye Beach Jamaica
Holiday Home Rental Description
Set in the exclusive Jamaican resort of Goldeneye, once home to the creator of James Bond, writer Ian Fleming, this lovely villa occupies an idyllic spot just metres from the perfect beach and a stunningly romantic lagoon. Set on two floors, this traditional Caribbean beach house sleeps four guests in two bedrooms. Light and airy, it offers a tranquil and secluded stay amongst the lush tropical gardens of this uniquely special place.
Attractively framed by palm trees, the villa welcomes guests onto a large, covered verandah – the perfect spot for sitting back with a chilled drink and enjoying the view. Stepping inside, guests will find a wonderfully airy living space, with a large, queen-size daybed, attractively furnished with colourful batik-style cushions, a television, comfortable armchairs and a coffee table. On the other side of the room is the smart kitchen area, stylishly kitted out with a well-stocked Smeg fridge and Italian-designed hob and oven. The warm, fragrant Caribbean breeze flows in through the traditional jalousie windows, and ceiling fans help to keep guests comfortable. The first of the two bedrooms is on the ground floor. Open to the sitting area, privacy can be ensured by drawing a curtain across if required. The luxurious King-size bed is furnished with 400-thread count linen to ensure blissful comfort. Adjacent to the bedroom is the open bathroom, complete with a claw foot bath where guests can indulge in a long soak with beauty products made from local botanicals. Heading upstairs, the second bedroom is equally comfortable, again with a King-size bed and open en-suite bathroom. Also, on the first floor is a large verandah, offering breath-taking views and perfect for relaxing with a book or a cold drink. At the rear of the villa is a wonderful outdoor shower room, where guests can enjoy the bliss of warm water cascading gently whilst surrounded by the lush greenery of this tropical paradise.

Apologises for any inconvenience caused.**Goldeneye is located on the stunning north coast of Jamaica, 73 miles from Montego Bay and 45 miles north of Kingston. Jamaica is home to a huge variety of natural landscapes, with a glorious sandy coastline and a dramatic, mountainous interior of spectacular rainforests.
Novelist Ian Fleming bought land here after World War II and had a beach house built according to his own design. His plan was to come and recuperate after the horrors of the war and to spend his days writing in the Caribbean sunshine. In the years that followed, Fleming wrote all his James Bond books. He lived in the house until his death in 1964. Some twelve years later, the estate was bought by musician Bob Marley who then sold it on to Chris Blackwell, founder of Island Records, just a year later. Blackwell slowly extended the estate, slowly adding more properties, until it finally opened as a hotel in the late 1980s.
Today the hotel offers a sublimely relaxing stay, with its stunning beaches, pools, beach bars and restaurant, where you can sit and take in the stunning surroundings over a plate of fresh seafood. The hotel offers an excellent selection of water sports, from sailing to snorkelling, and there is also an on-site spa where guests can enjoy a little pampering. Beyond the boundaries of this tropical idyll, however, lies a spectacular and fascinating island worthy of exploration. Just a few miles from nearby Ocho Rios are the Dunn’s River Falls. Cascading down 55 metres of ever-changing terraced rocks that have formed from calcium carbonate deposits, these spectacular falls are breath-taking. Accompanied by a guide, visitors can climb the falls and, once at the top, take in the stunning tropical surroundings.
As well as its glorious beaches, Jamaica is also home to some spectacular mountains and rainforests. Famous for its coffee, the island’s Blue Mountain range is well worth a visit. In the capable hands of a tour guide, visitors can head up into the misty hills and pay a visit to one of the many coffee plantations to see at first-hand how the beans are harvested, dried and turned into a wonderfully fragrant cup of coffee. Alternatively, rum aficionados may appreciate a guided tour of the traditional rum distillery at Worthy Park Estate. See how the island’s famous drink is made, from start to finish, before enjoying a tasting session to round off the trip.
