Cottage/Gite/Farm, Luxury Villas
| 6 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

Villa Calcite is a majestic home, located in the upscale gated community at Rose Hall Estate – a 200 acre historic golf course set within lush rolling greenery on the north coast of Jamaica.
A handsome and commanding home with a creamy, classically colonial style exterior, displaying the plantation architecture of the region – formally symmetrical with jalousie shuttered windows, pillared balconies, arched French windows and indoor-outdoor interplay. With a sleek dining pavilion and dazzling pool-side drinks bar, just a few steps from the bubbling hot tub, outdoor living has been executed stylishly.
The pool is a chic affair, magical when illuminated at night, and with surround sound and an array of glamorous touches, this home makes for a great party pad! On-hand staff to arrange spectacular meals, whether it be relaxed family barbecues or lavish meals with the rum cocktails flowing freely.
This home is particularly ideal for golf enthusiasts, with proximity to the golfing Mecca of Northern Jamaica, and three of its world class resorts, named aptly after the yellow mineral stone found in the region, its soft buttery yellow exterior is offset with deep mahogany window fittings and shutters. Around the pool is a lush explosion of overgrowth, palms and fragrant, tropical plant life, whilst at the dwelling’s tallest green slope is a long view down the 12th fairway of the prestigious course.
The dazzling formality of architecture and interiors contrast with the somewhat Indonesian influenced gardens, charmingly natural along with its mystical water features set in un-manicured tranquillity; or, the wooden walk-way across the pond to a thatch-roof hut, ideal for a moment’s calm meditation.
This exclusive gated community offers amenities, shops and restaurants as well as membership to a beach club and tennis courts, it is an altogether glamorous home, whilst the chef will cater to any taste.
Twelve guests can be accommodated across six magnificent bedrooms at Villa Calcite. The interiors are sedate and elegant, with an open plan living area offering an array of dining and lounging spots, finessed with soft creamy fabrics, velveteens, hand carved timber furnishing and genteel touches such as antique writing desk, this home is both tasteful yet informal with that characteristic Caribbean flair.
Wandering from the polished interiors to the outdoor lounge, the quintessentially local wicker touches alongside zesty tangerine upholstery with artfully natural custom made tables fashioned from tree trunks,
Dining inside overlooks the trickling fountain and tropical scents of the gardens, whilst all the opulent notes from glittering light fittings, designer furnishings, antiques and contemporary artwork jostle to create something both cutting-edge, as well as abundant with local flavour and natural raw materials.
Villa Calcite is executed to provide a seamless and effortless experience for its guests, with its distinguished hotel-grade bedrooms and water fall showers, its airy yet flamboyant living spaces and majestic gardens, as well as resort amenities, it really offers the best of both worlds.Villa Calcite is located on the glittering Northern coast of Jamaica, close to Montego Bay, with access to Rose Hall, which is known as being Jamaica’s best golf course. Whilst offering tranquil seclusion, this home has an array of shops and restaurants just five minutes away.
As well as Rose Hall, Cinnamon Hill Golf Course is just a few moments away, and the on-site, 18-hole Robert Von Hagge designed course, White Witch, set along 200 acres looking out over the Caribbean Sea, this spot is ideal for golf lovers! Situated on the historic 4,000 acre Rose Hall Estate, this 6,758-yard, Par 71 treasure is named for the plantation’s beautiful but wicked 19th century plantation mistress, Annee Palmer.
Montego Bay, on Jamaica’s north coast. The north of this lush Caribbean island is known for its glitzy developments, crystalline waters and coral reef rich coast, whilst away from the tourist hotspots, there lies a fascinating, colourful culture with music built into its rhythms (birthplace of reggae) and craggy remote mountains through to tropical waterfalls and banana groves.
Montego Bay is an energetic hub of buzzing nightlife, downtown market life, duty-free shopping and parties galore; ‘Mo’ Bay’ (as it is known locally) is Jamaica’s second largest town after Kingston (Bob Marley’s birthplace). When it comes to beaches, there is everything from the celebrity dotted Doctor’s Cave Beach, which has an 100-year-old bathing club, through to less showy Cornwall Beach, known for its tasty fried fish.
Locally known “Hip Strip,” (Gloucester Avenue), runs parallel to the oceanfront, offering a colourful and vivid three kilometre stretch of bars, boutiques, street vendors and restaurants, whilst in contrast, Downtown is worth a visit, from the cobblestone Sam Sharpe Square, to patty shops, artisans and music vendors through to historical sites like the Gully Market, or local eateries offering an eclectic creole blend of African spices, jerk and plantain, or a shot of rum depending on the mood!
Holden’s Reef (100m off-shore) is part of the barrier reef complex that covers much of Jamaica’s north coast. Taking a kayak out to the live reef will offer a tropical treat of colourful fish and coral, with snorkelling in shallow water or deeper waters for scuba diving.
The north coast of Jamaica consists of the diverse parishes of St Mary, St Ann and Trelawny, the gateway to spectacular scenery once visitors venture a little from the resort complexes; sweeping cane and coconut plantations, rolling farmlands, mangrove swamps and craggy terrain ideal for hiking, or for a journey to a reggae Mecca, to Bob Marley’s birthplace where local Rasta guides will proudly offer tours.
Whether it be deserted coastline or hikes inland to hidden waterfalls, magical coral reef journeys, or bubbling local culture intermixed with shiny tourist hubs, live music or water sports, the north coast of Jamaica has it all.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
