Manoir du Decorateur France

Luxury Villas
| 5 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

Featured in Maison Chic and Homes and Gardens magazine, this stately four-storey French villa in the Loire Valley, just outside the medieval village of Le Coudray, is a private and peaceful luxury retreat that will delight the senses.
While the architecture of the villa is itself impressive, the interior is equally stunning – exuding an 18th century elegance and refinery bolstered by period furnishings, antiques and tasteful décor.
Four ornate bedrooms and bathrooms spare no attention to detail, while the elegant lounge and dining areas make you feel like you like you’re on holiday in a bygone era. Comfortable furnishings, a well-equipped kitchen, and modern amenities, however, will help you feel right at home. The guesthouse is equally stylish, and can sleep an additional two guests.
The well-manicured grounds include a beautifully landscaped garden, mature trees, a BBQ area, and a gorgeous pond within its high walls. For a special treat, catch the sunset while strolling through the picturesque vineyard in the back of the villa.
Nearby, soak up history while grabbing a pint in Le Coudray Macouard. Check out the troglodyte caves within the surrounding Saumur region, and of course, make time for the famous Loire Valley wine tasting!
What catches the eye primarly is the architecture, in perfect harmony with the classical style of Loire manors and chateaux. Likewise, the interior has been designed to the finest detail with an artistic touch which strongly recalls an 18th century atmosphere. For our guests of every age and taste, there are marvellous things to see and do in and around the property.
Le Coudray Macouard is a fortified medieval little village, steeped in history and culture, located in the district of Saumur, within the charming Loire valley.
The museum and cultural centre of Royal Abbey of Fontevraud, where Richard the Lion Heart is buried, is 17 km away. The wine city of Chinon, with its majestic royal fortress and surrounded by a beautiful public forest, is 34 km away.
The Saumur region is famous for its troglodyte caves and many have been turned into fascinating tourist attractions. These are a fantastic option if the weather is wet or too hot, as the caves are dry and maintain a constant temperature year round. Among these, the Zoo de Doué, home to 500 animals, is located in an old quarry and has made excellent use of the caves in forming the zoo. The Museé du Champignon (mushroom museum) at St-Hilaire-St-Florent has made innovative use of the caves through mushroom production. Nearby, the Parc Miniature Pierre et Lumière is an unique attraction.
Many of the most well-known sites of the Loire valley have been carved out of tufa stone by a Breton sculptor. Châteaux, towns, villages and churches have been sculpted in the finest detail, with the most dramatic being a bas-relief of the nearby town of Saumur, 12 metres long by 2 metres high.
Saumur is also home to Le Cadre Noir, one of the most prestigious horsemanship schools in the world, whose equestrian display team holds regular performances.
The Loire Valley is rightfully famous for its excellent wines, and a visit to the area wouldn’t be complete without visiting the vineyards and having a taste! During the summer there is also an incredible and unique festival and historical pageant in Saint Fargeau (80km away) that involves hundreds of villagers.  At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
