Villa Lerici is a modern three-bedroom home located in Liguria in the North of Italy. The home is set in a hilltop position overlooking an expanse of trees and the town of La Spezia which is packed with shops, restaurants and has a rustic Old Town. This is a perfect base for exploring the much-loved Cinque Terre villages by boat.
This charming villa would be ideal for a family or small group of friends travelling together. Balconies provide a lovely place for your morning coffee and offer far-reaching views of the surrounding hills and down to the sea. There are three light and airy bedrooms in addition to a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable living room, which are great spaces for coming together in the evenings. You can also choose to share your meals at the large indoor dining area or the covered outdoor table.
Step out into the spacious garden and you will find an inviting swimming pool with sun loungers beside it for relaxing in the sun. The lawned area and surrounding plants blend seamlessly with the natural landscape around the villa.
Though set away from the main hustle and bustle, this home is just a five-minute drive away from the centre of La Spezia, which is the closest town and has all of the shops, restaurants and cafés you could wish for. Other useful amenities including a pharmacy, grocery store and pizzeria are located on the outskirts of the town and can be reached on foot in around 20 minutes. 
La Spezia also has a ferry port which is good news for those wanting to explore the nearby Cinque Terre villages. You can travel to Monterosso, Vernazza, Manarola and Riomaggiore by ferry or by small traditional boats. Riomaggiore is the largest of these well-preserved fishing villages and the view of the village from the sea is truly spectacular. However, each of these villages, plus Corniglia which can be reached by train, is packed with character, beautiful architecture and unrivalled mountain and sea views. You could visit one of the villages and spend the day there or you could visit a few as part of an organised tour.
A little further away is the town of Lerici, which is a thirty-minute drive away. The historic town sits in the Gulf of Poets which is an area which inspired writers and poets such as Lord Byron and Percy Shelley. Aside from its literary connections, Lerici has some incredible beaches and you will also find pretty, winding streets leading out from Piazza Garibaldi which is the main square. Head to this area for bars and eateries. Villa Lerici is located a stone’s throw away from the town of La Spezia in Liguria. Close to a wealth of stunning beaches and within easy reach of the much-loved Cinque Terre villages, this is fantastic place for a holiday soaking up the Italian culture. 
Just five-minutes away by car is La Spezia, a busy town built around the port. It has plenty to see, such as the 13th century castle and a number of impressive religious buildings. There are lots of places to eat and drink and you can pick up groceries in local shops or the buzzing outdoor markets. A handful of restaurants and a grocery store located on the outskirts of the town can also be accessed on foot in around twenty minutes.
The ferry port in La Spezia can be reached by car in ten minutes and from here you can head out on boat trips or organised tours to the Cinque Terre villages which are the gems of the Italian Riviera.
These five villages are a UNESCO World Heritage Site; a collection of charming fishing villages built into the side of the cliffs and their preserved pastel buildings look beautiful as you approach from the sea by boat. The car-free villages are all dotted along the coast and if you wanted you could spend a day walking the hiking trails through all of them, though it would be better to choose a few to visit and take your time exploring. Wandering around the picturesque villages and enjoying some delicious food and drink is all you really need to do, though there are also some amazing swimming spots to be discovered and plenty of walking and boat tours you could join in with.
When you wish to head to the coast and sunbathe on the beach, you will be spoiled for choice! Venere Azzura is a blue flag beach located 30-minutes away in Lerici and it is just one of the beautiful beaches dotted along the coastline. Lerici also has many places to visit, such as the castle which towers over the town and now houses a dinosaur museum.
