Occupying an idyllic position nestled within pine-covered hills and with unspoilt views of the sea, Villa Sanciata is a luxurious holiday home in a quiet neighbourhood that’s close to several sandy beaches.
The contemporary décor and furnishings of the villa create a calming base that offers all the modern facilities and conveniences you need to enjoy your stay. Large patio doors throughout make the most of the stunning views and bring the outside in.
On the ground floor is a lovely open plan relaxing and dining space. The living area features a selection of comfortable sofas that sit upon cool wood and tile floors, as well as a fireplace and television that act as focal points.
Doors open onto a terrace where you can take in the views across the countryside to the sea beyond. Sharing this open plan space is a dining area with table that seats up to eight people. Adjacent to this area is a well-equipped kitchen with a range of facilities and small breakfast bar.
There are three bedrooms on this floor, with one having a double bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower and bathtub. The second bedroom features bunk beds and the third has twin beds. A large bathroom with shower and bathtub is for use by all guests.
To the first floor is a further bedroom with double bed and balcony access. There’s also a luxurious bathroom with shower and bathtub.
The accommodation is completed with rooms to the lower floor. A large open space is home to a living room and games room, with table football, table tennis table and a pool table.
There’s also a bedroom with double bed and a sofa bed for two children, as well as an ensuite bathroom with shower and bathtub. A second bedroom has twin beds. For use by all guests is a lovely bathroom with both bathtub and shower.
Surrounding the villa are terraces with outdoor furniture for both dining and relaxing. Within the extensive gardens is a private swimming pool with decked terrace and a selection of loungers and chairs.
This is the perfect place for enjoying breathtaking sunset views over the hills and sea. There’s also a barbecue giving you the chance to grill some local seafood for dinner and areas of lawn for the children to play on.The villa is ideally located for exploring the coast as well as inland areas. Guincho Beach is just under 10 minutes away by car and lies at the bottom of the beautiful Sintra hills. Thanks to the windy conditions, its waters are perfect for trying out wind and board surfing.
If you prefer to watch, rather than take part yourself, you’ll find the golden sands provide a comfortable view point. Take a picnic and soak up the views across the azure sea or stop for lunch at one of the restaurants that are close by.
Drive approximately 10 minutes north and you’ll reach Cabo da Roca, mainland Europe’s most western point. The area provides some spectacular views and is a great starting point to follow a walking trail along the coast. Make sure to take a photo of the iconic lighthouse and also of the monument that states the cape’s geographical claim to fame.
A 15-20 minute drive will take you to Cascais. This resort town has a rich fishing heritage, with its marina still a bustling hub. It boasts two coastlines, with one being calmer and more suitable for swimming off its beaches, and the other a rugged surfer’s paradise.
There’s plenty to do in the historic centre, including browsing museums and buildings of cultural significance. The Museu Condes de Castro Guimarães is situated within a mock-Gothic castle dating from 1902 and showcases some of the furniture and art from the eccentric constructor’s private collection.
