Villa Valeu is a rustic, traditional villa sleeping up to 13 guests in a wonderful setting, with fantastic views over the Atlantic Ocean. The villa is located in a quiet area, 10 minutes away from the superb Quinta da Marinha golf resort and close to Figueira do Guincho, 5 minutes from the gorgeous Guincho beach. It is 35km from Lisbon city.The villa is within walking distance of the sea and is very close to many tourist attractions. The panoramic sea views are magnificent. Praira do Guincho is one of the finest beaches of the Lisbon region, combining intense surfing with dramatic, natural scenery. Guincho is situated on the western edge of the Serra da Sintra National Park, protecting the fabulous beach from tourist development. The Quinta da Marinha Golf course was designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones, offering fabulous views over the ocean and the Sintra Mountains. Next door is the famous Oitavos Dunes, reputed to be the best golf course in Portugal and 55th best in the world.
Villa Valeu is quite unique with interesting, rustic architecture, stone walls in parts and plenty of beamed ceilings. The villa is well-equipped and definitely feels like a comfortable home. On the ground floor there are two seating areas in the atmospheric stone-walled living room as well as a small dining table. The living area opens to a terrace with outdoor lounge furniture, sun loungers and synthetic grass. The views are marvelous, especially at sunset. At the far end of the living area there is a games room and library with a pool table, football table and chess for your enjoyment. There is a small gym and an office. The dining room has a sloping beamed ceiling and atmospheric dining for 10 guests. The kitchen is fully-equipped and quite spacious. Also downstairs are some of the bedrooms. There is a double room overlooking the pool, garden and the ocean, a double room with a double bed and a single bed and another bedroom with a double bed, 2 singles and an ensuite bathroom with a shower and bath. There is a separate bathroom and toilet on the ground floor. One of the sofas is a sofa bed which you could also use if you had more than 13 guests. On the first floor there are 2 double bedrooms, both with double beds, sea views and ensuite bathrooms.
Villa Valeu has a large garden with lots of space for children to play. The pool is 8m x 4m and is in a lovely position overlooking the sea and surrounded by sun loungers, deck chairs and a large lawn. There is a large outdoor dining area with two barbecues. There is parking for 5 cars at the property.Golf fans will be delighted to have the Quinta da Marinha golf resort close by. As well as the golf courses, there are also 10 tennis courts, 3 padel courts, 2 squash courts, a sauna, gym, indoor swimming pool, restaurants and the fantastic Marinha Equestrian Centre. There are regular riding events at the Cascais Municipal Hippodrome and there are several riding schools where you can enjoy the trails through the forests or even on the beach.The list of beaches is endless, some family friendly, white sandy beaches and others ready for thrill-seekers wanting to surf the pounding waves. If you head towards Estoril, the other side of Cascais, there are calmer, sheltered beaches and from Guincho to Praia das Macas there are wilder conditions.
Cascais is 9km away and is a charming Portuguese fishing town. Historically, Cascais was the summer retreat of the Portuguese nobility. Today it is an elegant fusion of its fabulous heritage and modern tourism. Within the cobbled streets of the historic centre are museums, an imposing fort, lavish villas and charming shops and restaurants. A short train ride can take you into the centre of Lisbon or to one of the lovely beaches along the coast.
The gorgeous Sintra is 22km from the villa, amongst the hills of the Serra de Sintra. Within the pine covered hills are colourful, extravagant palaces, opulent mansions and the ruins of an ancient castle. The town is enthralling with these fascinating, historic buildings and charming, narrow lanes filled with quaint restaurants and cafes. The Pena Palace is one of the finest tourist attractions in Portugal and exemplifies the 19th century Romanticism style of architecture. There is an alluring mix of vivid painted terraces, mythological statues and decorative battlements, all in the lush Parque de Pena forest.
