The spectacular Praia do Meco is just 3km away. The villa is also close to Alfarim and within easy reach of Sesimbra, Sebutal, the Arrabida Natural Park and the vibrant city of Lisbon.
Villa Felice is perfect for a group of families wanting to holiday together or perhaps a group of young adults. The sleeping arrangement is unusual in that you have an open loft with 6 single beds, one bedroom with a kingsize bed and bunk beds, another double and a twin room. Children love the adventure of holidaying with friends or cousins so the loft room is perfect for them.
The villa’s decor oozes sophistication and is very smart. Throughout you will find shades of grey, all complimented with black, cream and grey accessories. The villa is absolutely immaculate and very comfortable. The living and dining room is spectacular with a contemporary fire for chilly evenings, a sumptuous sofa, a huge television, some very striking art and two sets of doors opening to the terrace and garden. The kitchen is separate and features glossy black cabinetry and top of the range appliances. It is a large, stylish space with a central island where guests can keep the chef company perched on stools. Also on the ground floor is a fabulous double room with a kingsize bed and a stunning bathroom with a walk-in shower.
A beautiful contemporary staircase leads you to the first floor where you will find two bedrooms and another glorious, beautifully tiled bathroom with a walk-in shower. The double room enjoys a double bed and bunkbeds, a delightful family room. The second bedroom is a fabulous twin with the most gorgeous shared oak headboard. It is a beautiful feature. The open tread staircase then leads to the open attic, such a fun room where there will no doubt be much chatter and games.
The garden is lovely. It features a grassy lawn, a wonderful 8m x 4.5m swimming pool, a large jacuzzi and covered outdoor lounge and dining areas. There is a small outdoor kitchen area with a barbecue for alfresco dining. Villa Felice will not disappoint. It is beautifully finished and offers excellent space, inside and out. Villa Felice enjoys a tranquil location in Lagoa de Albufeira. Alfarim is just 2.7km from the villa with a good range of shops, a bakery, butcher, a bank, post office and supermarkets. Praia da Lagoa de Albufeira is a fabulous beach with a lagoon where you can enjoy warmer, calmer water learn to windsurf or paddleboard. The beach is stunning with sensational panoramic views and beautiful walks.
The villa is 3km from the fabulous Praia do Meco. The beach is within the Serra da Arrabida National Park where you can explore the many hiking and biking trails. The gorgeous golden sands of the beach are backed with cliffs and a fragrant pine forest. The vibrant beach bar is a hive of activity. You may find you are there when the annual frisbee competition takes place. Aldeia do Meco is famous for its seafood restaurants as well as the unspoilt sweep of golden sand and its mesmerising sunsets. Biscas Beach is a favourite with surfers. Other favourites are Portinho da Arrabida Beach and Galappinhos Beach.
If you want to buy fish to cook on the barbecue you should head to the fish markets of Sesimbra. It is 13.5km from the villa and is where you will sample the real Portugal. The town is very characterful with a fascinating heritage. Sesimbra is famous for its freshly cooked seafood and its family run, atmospheric Marisqueira restaurants. The coastline in this area is spectacular with breathtaking, panoramic views from the battlements of the Castelo de Sesimbra. Visitors can explore the coastline by kayak, boat tour or dolphin watch tour. The Cabo Espichel, a wild and exposed cliff headland, boasts incredible views, a unique church, lighthouse and two sets of dinosaur footprints. The headland was once an important pilgrimage destination.
Sebutal is at the heart of the Portuguese sardine industry and is also famous for its delicious, sweet and globally acclaimed moscatel wine. The town boasts a picturesque, colourful harbour and a very pretty waterfront. Its Manueline monastery, beautiful ancient churches, acclaimed market and its interesting museums are very popular.
Villa Felice is only 36km from the cosmopolitan city of Lisbon. Lisbon’s pretty azulejos, old fashioned trams, hipster cafes, delicious restaurants, iconic markets and the narrow, cobbled streets of the wonderful Alfama district make for a fabulous excursion while staying at Villa Felice. Its iconic flea market Feira da Ladra is bustling on Sunday mornings. The Time Out Market and Mercado da Ribeira with its pop-up restaurants are popular dining venues. Throughout Lisbon you will find excellent look-out points including Sao Pedro de Alcatara, a postage-stamp sized garden in the trendy Principe Real neighbourhool. You can soak in the stunning view while sipping on a glass of rose. Another is the Miradouro da Graca that looks over the Castelo de Sao Jorge, the ruins of an 11th century Moorish palace. The Elevador Santa Justa, a turn-of-the-20th-century public transit project linking the Baixa neighbourhood with the hilltop Bairro Alto, enjoys unparalleled views over the city centre from the lift that spirits you 45 metres to the top. While in Lisbon, you should try and see and listen to some of Portugal’s national music, fado. You will find it performed at many restaurants in the Alfama neighbourhood. You can also visit the Museu do Fabo in Alfama. Belem can be reached by tram or train and is famous for its stunning monastery, botanic gardens and the iconic delicious dessert, pastis de nata.The Berado Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Belem Cultural Centre is excellent.
