Casa do Abril is a beautiful and modern villa located in the tranquil Aldeia do Meco village. With the lovely Bicas Beach just two kilometres away and the vibrant streets of Lisbon within a half an hour drive, this is the perfect spot for enjoying Portugal’s picturesque Lisbon coast. The villa blends traditional furnishings with modern styles, creating a warm and welcoming feel that is perfect for a relaxing holiday.
On the ground floor, the villa’s contemporary design makes it easy to navigate, moving from room to room with ease. The main living space has two fabulous glass doors, allowing sunlight to flood in and sliding open to combining the indoor and outdoor living. It is easy to imagine wandering in and out, grabbing refreshing drinks from the fridge and snacks from the cupboard to enjoy by the pool. The kitchen itself is well equipped, offering everything you need to prepare delicious dinners and picnic lunches, giving yourself energy for each day of adventures.
There are comfy sofas where you can curl up and watch television and a desk where you can write your postcards. The hardest decision is simply where to eat, at the modern indoor dining table or alfresco on the terrace with rippled light across the pool.
There are three bedrooms in the villa, two upstairs on the first floor and a double bedroom with an en-suite on the ground floor. The double room is spacious and bright with plenty of storage and space to relax and elegant patio doors opening onto the pool. The upstairs bedrooms are well suited to older children and kids. The first has twin beds and the second has two sets of bunk beds perfect for four kids to share. There is a family bathroom for the two bedrooms to share.
As well as the beautiful indoors, Casa do Abril offers a fabulous terrace. With high walls to offer privacy from the neighbouring properties, this sunny space is great for enjoying Portugal’s fabulous climate. There are sun loungers, a relaxed dining table and space to spread out. The private swimming pool sits at the heart of the terrace, encouraging you to hop in and out, cooling off from the midday sun.Casa do Abril is a beautiful villa located in the charming village of Aldeia do Meco with the Lisbon coastline just a stone throw away and outstanding natural sights spread around nearby. The entire coastline offers golden sandy shores, with dramatic cliffs and luscious pine forests bordering the picturesque beaches. With Lisbon’s vibrant streets a 30-minute drive away and the delicious eateries of Sesimbra within 20-minutes of your front door, there are options for every night – the perfect base for exploring this gorgeous area. From Sesimbra you can book dolphin tours that run from the beach, a wonderful activity for kids and adults alike, making your holiday even more special.
Guests will find supermarkets, restaurants, and bars at a short driving distance from the villa. And the lovely Bicas Beach is only 2 kilometres away. Popular with surfers, this sandy beach is perfect for bodyboarding and beach days. It is also a popular choice for nudists. From Biscas, the beach stretches down for 30 kilometres, so you can take long walks down the raised boardwalk soaking in the stunning views. The sunsets are among some of the most stunning in the area, so head down to the beach for a glass of wine in one of the restaurants, enjoy the array of colours that light up the night sky after the sun sets on the horizon. Meco is another popular beach, with gold sandy shores and imposing cliffs as a backdrop, the annual frisbee competition is perfect for entertainment, so make sure you check the date! For an afternoon of adventures, head to the Lagoa de Albufeira, known as one of the most beautiful spots in the Lisbon region and offering a selection of activities, from sailing and paddleboarding to calm beaches for swimming. The Cabo Espichel Lighthouse is a 15-minute drive away and you can stop for a picnic, looking out over the vast cliffs that drop dramatically into the sea, a great photo opportunity!
Lisbon, the Portuguese capital, is only 35 km from the villa so you can reach it in half an hour. The vibrant streets, charming wine bars and historic trams all add to this beautiful city, making it a joy to explore.
