Villa Assunção is a cosy, typical Portuguese holiday home, with flowing, open-plan living spaces and modern amenities. This charming property offers a fabulous location, less than an hour from the vibrant city of Lisbon and five minutes from the nearby beaches and towns. The house is part of a lovely six-villa condominium with a communal swimming pool and a shared playground, making it perfect for families with children.
Within the villa, the layout is simple, and there is a warm, welcoming atmosphere to the entire house, making it feel like your home away from home. On the ground floor, you will find a well-equipped kitchen, open-plan dining area and cosy living room with a fireplace and TV.
This friendly space is perfect for spending some quality time with your loved ones, enjoying cooking family feasts and dining together as a group. Patio doors open out onto a charming terrace, with beautiful, covered space for you dine al-fresco, utilising the popular barbecue! There is one double bedroom on the ground floor, as well as a family bathroom.
The second two bedrooms can be found on the upper level, sharing a second, modern bathroom. Villa Assunção offers ease and comfort, ideal if you want to turn up and settle straight into holiday mode.
Outside, the villa offers a private garden, with comfy sun loungers where you can put your feet up, top up your tan and finish off your favourite book. The swimming pool is perfect for cooling off on hot summer days, and the playground offers endless fun for any children travelling with you.
Villa Assunção provides an escape from the busier, tourist towns, located in Fornos, a small and quiet village near Alfarim. With a superb coastline, excellent restaurants and a wide range of cultural and sports activities, there is something for everyone!Villa Assunção is located on the western headland of this arching stretch of Lisbon Coastline. Alfarim is nearby, with everything you may need including shops, banks, chemist and supermarket. For meals out, it’s worth driving a little further to the principal town of Sesimbra. Just ten kilometres away, this delightful and popular tourist destination is well-known for its seafood and fish delicacies.
Follow the locals to the best family-run marisqueira restaurants, tucked away down alleyways in the town. Serving up freshly caught fish from Sesimbra’s fleet, you won’t be disappointed. You’re in the heart of the Setubal wine region here, so wine tours and tastings can be booked easily from the town centre.
Praia da Baleeira is eight kilometres from Villa Assunção. Being one of the most sheltered beaches along this stretch of the Lisbon coast, it’s ideal for families as you also have the interest of the working port and quayside running alongside it.
For crashing waves and surfing skills, head to Praia das Bicas or the beaches at Sesimbra and Portinho de Arrabida have some of the best diving excursions in Portugal. You could also try your hand at sailing, windsurfing or canoeing at the water-sport centres nearby.
If there are any golfers in your party, they can choose from four championship-standard eighteen-hole courses within thirty kilometres of Villa Assunção. Quinta do Montado and Troia are your closest.
