Villa Saudades Portugal

Luxury Villas
| 5 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

This modern 5-bedroom villa in Troia is just 30m from the beach and enjoys a lovely ocean view. Set in spacious, private gardens, Villa Saudades has its own magnificent swimming pool, a large terrace and a tennis court, making it the perfect place to enjoy the sun at your leisure.
Integrated into a coastal nature reserve, Villa Saudades has an enviable setting. The garden is fenced, making it safe for children to play, and ensures they can’t wander onto the beach unnoticed. The villa’s beachfront terrace provides a barbecue and dining tables – you can easily get some fresh fish from the fishermen who sell their catch nearby.
You have plenty of sun loungers and seating around the pool, and inside there’s a pool of another sort, with a billiards table in the lounge. There’s another dining space indoors, along with a comfortable seating area with TV, music system and fireplace.
The modern kitchen is impressively equipped and comes complete with an island and a large fridge freezer with ice dispenser – handy for cold drinks in the hot sun. There is direct access from the kitchen and dining area to the one on the terrace, making it a great venue for entertaining friends.
There’s an en suite double bedroom on the ground floor, and the other four bedrooms are upstairs – that’s three doubles with bathrooms and a twin room with bunk beds. Each bedroom is stylishly appointed, with two also enjoying access to the upper balcony.
Located on the Troia Peninsula, Villa Saudades enjoys easy access to an extensive run of beaches and some beautiful areas of nature. You can take a boat across the River Sado to Setúbal province, where the stunning Parque Natural da Arrábida can be found. At the lower end of the peninsula, it’s a short drive to pretty Comporta which, as part of the Sado Estuary Nature Reserve, is a rewarding destination for wildlife spotting. On Portugal’s Alentejo coast, Comporta is a quiet beachside village which has recently found itself the topic of countless travel magazines’ ‘next big thing’ articles. More than a few A-listers have found their way to its endless golden beaches, and Comporta well deserves their attention. Unlike many resorts where such fame would result in high-rise hotels and noisy clubs springing up, Comporta’s selling point is its simplicity.
The village lies at the foot of the Troia Peninsula, closer to Lisbon than many of the country’s best-known resorts. The lack of a ‘scene’ of any kind has been noted, so don’t expect in-your-face nightlife or even strings of restaurants – it’s far more understated in Comporta, but you will find a quiet place or two to hang out, often with food far better than the unpretentious vibe would suggest.
A beautiful place to just be – perhaps the secret of its success with its celebrity fans – Comporta is part of the Sado Estuary Nature Reserve. Look out for dolphins, sea birds and eagles among others. Whether you travel the beach on horseback or simply on foot, you will have much to appreciate.  The landscapes are sublime and uncluttered, with rice paddies and pine forests adding character to the area. Crashing waves make Comporta a surfing favourite too, which seems to fit perfectly with the laid-back style of the place.
As the day ends, make sure you’re in prime position to take in the, no doubt, stunning sunset – just one of the many advantages to being in the know about Comporta.
