Villa Chada Portugal
Holiday Home Rental Description
Villa Chada certainly has the WOW factor. Situated on the outskirts of Arco Da Calheta on the east coast of the island, Villa Chada with its four impressive bedrooms accommodating up to eight people would be the perfect choice for a dream holiday in Madeira for a family or group of friends.
Your first glimpse on arrival at Villa Chada is of the curved glass front overlooking the circular pool and jacuzzi, with the rooftops of the coastal villages and the ocean beyond. Your experience just gets better and better. As you enter the open plan lounge, indoor dining area and kitchen the sunshine follows you in as you are greeted by the fabulous interior décor. The lounge which overlooks the circular pool and separate jacuzzi flows through to the indoor dining area and kitchen, all have direct access to the large poolside terrace and array of comfortable furniture for both lounging or dining. Should you wish a little time out there is also a large chaise longue discretely hidden in a quiet corner overlooking the garden to escape to.
The attention to detail is incredible, the décor so sumptuous yet comfortable and bright. The colours carried through to each area. The sleek lines of the kitchen discreetly store all you could need should you wish to dine at home.
A turned staircase leads you to the four sumptuous double bedrooms, all individually decorated giving each its own character. Each has its own ensuite facilities with either a bath or shower and three have furnished private balconies overlooking the gardens and to the coastline of the island beyond. It will be difficult to choose who gets which one!
The gardens are just as amazing as the villa itself. The centrepiece of course is the beautiful circular pool which looks as though it drops straight into the Atlantic Ocean, a separate jacuzzi pool is going to be a favourite place to unwind with a cool drink at the end of the day. Challenging for the centrepiece spot is the beautiful Bonsai tree at the entrance to the property, it and all the other tropical plants and trees are beautifully maintained. The poolside terrace and gardens are spacious and offer a vista for every day should you chose to move your lounger away from the poolside. Madeira offers an outstandingly varied destination for your holiday. Its stunning coastline, dramatic mountains and Portuguese charm assure you of a holiday to remember. Whether you are looking for a relaxing time or an action-packed activity beak your stay at Villa Chada is the perfect base for your trip.
The small local villages around here sit on the sunny east coast amongst the terraced banana plantations, the locals take great pride in their small promenades running parallel to the pebble beaches and their cafés, bars and restaurants specialising in fish and local produce. A little further along the coast is the larger town of Calheta with one of the few golden sandy beaches on the island. The beach itself is manmade with golden sand imported from the Sahara, Calheta marina within the beach resort is a bustling area with berths for some 300 yachts and motor cruisers, some bigger fishing boats base themselves here from June to August as this is the marlin hunting season, a great day out if you enjoy the thrill of big game fishing in these surprisingly rich fishing grounds.
Exploring the coast nearby, and just off the beaten track is the tiny village of Jardim du Mar. Until fifty years ago this village was only accessible by sea. The parish formed by a cluster of houses around the chapel still retains the quiet and calm of the past. It has a beautiful promenade, to get there you have to walk through a labyrinth of tiny alleys, walkways and even people’s gardens. The village and several others close by here have become better known because of the fantastic surfing conditions just off the coast.
A visit to Madeira has to include a day to the capital city Funchal, it doesn’t feel like a city more laid back and friendly, typical of the Portuguese way of life. The harbour area is a great attraction, often large cruise ships berth for a while, their passengers scurrying off into town. The area around here is very lively, lots of eating places and delicious cooking smells to entice you. The Donna Amélia Garden in memory of the Queen is located directly in the centre of Funchal, you will pass beautiful flower beds, plants and trees indigenous to Madeira as well as many other exotic species from all over the world as you meander around, there is also a pond featuring ducks and swans, a café and an amphitheatre where cultural events often take place. The best gardens however are to be found at Monte, high above the town, best accessed by a 20 minute cable car ride from the centre of town, for fun take a wicker sledge ride back down, spotters keep traffic safely out of the way while you hurtle your way through the cobbled streets.
