In just a few minutes, guests can enjoy Ribeira Brava’s vibrant town life, with a variety of shops, bars and traditional restaurants offering delectable seafood. Amble down the lovely promenade, grab a coffee in one of the quaint cafes and enjoy an afternoon soaking up the sun on the black sandy beach. Its proximity to many breath-taking hiking opportunities is also a fantastic draw for this stunning area of Madeira.
The Island’s historic capital Funchal is just 28km east, where this natural amphitheatre of lush hillside facing proudly out towards the Atlantic Ocean will welcome you to its heart. From the pretty promenade, take the cable car to Monte, where you can visit the world-renowned Monte Palace Tropical Garden. And to get back to the Old Town from Monte don’t miss sliding down the steep hill on a traditional wicker toboggan! Once in the old town, amongst narrow cobbled streets, be sure to visit some of the fabulous restaurants serving mouth-watering skewered meats, alongside exquisite tapas and heavenly desserts such as honey cake and passion fruit pudding. Football fans will also enjoy a visit to a museum in honour of Madeira’s best loved son Cristiano Ronaldo here.
There are a great variety of activities on offer on this stunning Island, from a quiet round of golf 28km from the villa, to exhilarating 4×4 excursions across the Island’s dynamic landscape. One of the most breath-taking activities has to be hiking some of the 2,092 kilometres of narrow stone irrigation channels known as levadas, criss-crossing Madeira’s lush mountainous countryside into the Laurisilva forest. You’ll be ideally located close to two fantastic routes here, where awe-inspiring scenery and panoramic vistas will abound.   
For those looking for a more serene activity, a wine tasting tour is a must. Head to Camara de Lobos, a lovely traditional fishing village 13km east for a free Madeira wine tasting experience at local producer Henriques & Henriques. Or perhaps the black lava bathing pools of Porto Moniz, 37km north, will provide the perfect day trip.
