The property’s lush gardens extend over 8000 m², offering visitors a tranquility comparable with that of Eden itself! In the shade of over 300 trees (including fruit trees, olive trees and palm trees) the twitter of birdsong and the gentle murmur of water seguias running through the garden invites guests to totally relax in sublime surroundings.
The beautiful pool area offers privacy and shelter from the wind, welcoming you to relax in the shade of trees or out in the Moroccan sunshine – it’s up to you! The free-form pool is designed to be seamlessly integrated with the natural environment and has a submerged beach section that’s ideal for the kids, while the adults can get competitive on the 100m boules green!
Dar el Habib comprises of two buildings – the House and the Riad. The house is where you’ll spend much of your time, with communal areas and facilities for everyday living including two relaxation lounges (both with markedly different decor and atmospheres!) and a lounge with central fireplace as well as a piano for musicians! The Riad is located 70m from the main house and contains seven suites and rooms, offering a place even further removed and quieter than the main building! It enjoys 360° views from the rooftop terrace, taking in an expanse of palm trees and snowy Atlas peaks off in the distance.Dar el Habib is conveniently located roughly half an hour east of Ouarzazate and its international airport. The town of Skoura itself is renowned for its beauty and architecture, as well as its traditional stone kasbah and you’ll find Dar el Habib ideally situated in the palm grove, its greenest part.
With easy and quick access to the center of the town of Skoura, the property’s location means it sees no passing traffic and is therefore totally quiet. Many activities can also be enjoyed using the villa as a base, including guided nature walks, lunch in the garden of a Berber family, horseback and camel riding, a henna session, cooking lessons or an evening with local musicians. Larger day trips and excursions out into the desert are also easily arranged!Breakfast at the property is included in the rental price, but if guests would like lunch and dinner they incur an extra cost.
Breakfasts are plentiful and come served with seasonal fruit from the garden, homemade bread and pancakes, but also with pastries and delicious jams. For lunch and dinner, choose between the varied and refined Moroccan or Mediterranean cuisine, made using seasonable vegetables and fruits and olive oil exclusively harvested from the garden. Another ingredients will be picked up in the souk, with the (relatively small) cost being passed on to guests.
Moroccan cuisine is tasty, and the goal at Dar el Habib is to help you discover simple but original Moroccan dishes! The kitchen of the house has also been designed to make cooking classes a breeze for any number of people, and it’s a great way to learn the secrets of Moroccan cuisine and its use of spices and herbs!
