Casa Boka Montenegro
Holiday Home Rental Description
Spread over sprawling, magnificent grounds with dazzling views of green mountains and the sparkling Boka Kotor Bay, this dreamy villa is an ideal Adriatic getaway for groups of up to 20 guests. Enter the mesmerising complex via an atmospheric set of stone steps that rise above the lush garden, fringed with a garden of green and yellow flora.
There are two apartments and five glorious bedrooms that make up the property. Of the five bedrooms, each one is split into two with a beautifully comfortable double or twin bed. The twin rooms are connected by a shared hallway, ideal for families with children. The setup of the accommodation makes it a fantastic choice for groups of families or friends travelling together – each room is like a suite with its own bathroom and living space. Fresh white interiors are teamed with monochrome furniture and floor to ceiling windows.
Each room has its own private terrace that juts out over the bay. Bedrooms are decked out with cream walls and shimmering pastel bedspreads, adorned with design details like Moroccan lanterns and traditional art. Some rooms have unique headboards made from bamboo, while others channel French style reclaimed wood.
When you’re in need of some downtime, head to the spectacular cinema room, equipped with comfortable seating, surround sound and a flat screen television. Perfect for enjoying family movie night in style! For those who like to keep active when they travel, the villa has a basketball court to shoot some hoops, and a sauna for those who love to pamper themselves.
The villa has its own restaurant that serves an impressive range of Mediterranean and European cuisine, as well as traditional Serbian food. Made with fresh vegetables and local meat and fish, accompanied with wines from all over the world, a meal here is an opportunity not to be missed. There are also a variety of intimate and larger dining rooms around the property, with a myriad of quirky art pieces like a wall of glossy cherries.
The villa is the ideal setting for an event such as a wedding or special party, as the terraces and vast grounds can hold up to 100 guests. The restaurant has a stage and a dedicated dancing area for spins and twirls. This villa is nestled by the Bay of Kotor, with its dazzling shades of endless blue, punctuated with soaring cliffs, tiny inlets and medieval villages along the shoreline. Through its winding roads, discover hidden churches and monasteries and top it all off with a delicious meal of fresh seafood. Encircled by mountains, the bay is part of Boka and also known as the ‘Bride of the Adriatic’. It is a one of a kind geological formation similar to a Scandinavian fjord.
The closest town to the villa is thriving, upscale Tivat, which could be mistaken for Monaco, due to the luxury yachts that bob in Porto Montenegro, the world-famous marina. Sunsets over the bay are often spectacular – park yourself at a seafront cafe for a coffee or some delicious local ice cream and watch the sky light on fire.
The town itself is charming and compact, easily walkable and full of cute cafes and lovely restaurants, where you can sample some Montenegrin classics such as Punjene Paprike – stuffed peppers, or Gulaš – a hearty stew served with mashed potato. In June, the town hosts an International Carnival, complete with a parade and samba displays.
For those interested to find out more about the history of sailing in this area, the Naval History Museum, which boasts 300 historic maritime artefacts including a real submarine to explore! Visit the atmospheric lighthouse on the shoreline of the town and climb to the top for a rewarding view of the mountains.
There are some truly beautiful hikes around the Bay of Kotor, such as Gornja Lastva, which will take several hours to reach, passing ancient settlements and olive mills along the way. Gornja Lastva sits at 300 metres above sea level and has breathtaking views that stretch along the horizon, baroque stone houses and fragrant grape trellises dedicated to the Holy Mother.
However, for a nature fix you don’t even have to leave Tivat, you can simply visit the Big City Park, an oasis of greenery and calm, away from the bustling streets. This is a great place for a walk through the botanical gardens and feel at one with nature.
Conveniently located for day trips around Montenegro, this villa is just 15 minutes’ drive from Kotor itself and the same for the beaches along the Lustica Peninsula. Take a 30-minute drive and you’ll be in lively Budva, Montenegro’s most popular holiday destination. With its imposing stone Venetian walls that once guarded the city from intruders and its cosmopolitan cafes and nightlife, Budva is the beating heart of this stunning Balkan country.
A beach day is always a good idea in Montenegro. Known as the Budva Riviera, there are no fewer than seventeen named beaches that stretch along the coastline from Jaz to Buljarica. Some great choices for a beach day include Becici beach, where you can go paragliding, and Kamenow, with its crystal-clear turquoise waters and powdery sand.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
