Kotor Cottage Montenegro
Holiday Home Rental Description
A lavish villa of timeless elegance, with bewitching views of the deep blue Adriatic Sea and a private beach. Right at the water’s edge, wake up to the sounds of the sea and breathe in the fresh air. The villa is brand new and within an elite neighbourhood close to Porto Montenegro. It’s a fantastic choice whether you want to relax by the water or explore the region fully.
The charming exteriors are designed in keeping with Montenegrin traditions, using lots of natural stone and wood, with airy, spacious interiors. The villa is spread over three floors, while large glass floor to ceiling windows throughout ensures the villa is bathed in light from all corners. A balcony runs along the front of the house for guests to soak up the Mediterranean sun.
There’s plenty of terrace space for outdoor living at this cottage. Outside, there’s a fresh modern bar and plenty of sunbeds facing the glittering sea and a casual beachside dining space for eight with an alluring atmosphere. Additionally, guests can relax in the canopied outdoor lounge, enjoying the stunning views.
The living room is decorated in fresh white with cosy seating and a striking art piece above the sofa, while floating shelves add a chic touch. There’s a fully equipped kitchen with colourful navy blue and yellow mosaic-style tiling, ideal for whipping up a family feast. Complete with a modern kitchen counter, so guests can entertain their chef or sip an aperitif here.
Three minimal chic bedrooms all have beautifully comfortable double beds to sink into at the end of a long day. Each room is decorated in neutral tones save for the sage green bedding with black scatter cushions and billowing drapes. Flat screen televisions provide some evening relaxation and the rooms have enviable views of the bewitching Montenegrin coast.
Six guests can sleep in these bedrooms, with a further two on the pull-out sofa in the living room. The bathrooms have expansive showers, elegant curved sinks and reclaimed wooden cabinets. This villa is perfectly placed for a relaxing holiday in the Balkans. Encircled by mountains, the Bay of Boka is also known as the ‘Bride of the Adriatic’ and is a one of a kind geological formation similar to a Scandinavian fjord. A riot of colourful flowers bloom every spring around the jagged coastline, and the bay is dotted with tiny medieval villages, looming cliffs and with bright blue inlets. There are plenty of boat trips you can take to neighbouring bays such as Kotor and Cetinje, or even as far as Dubrovnik in Croatia.
The village in which this cottage is called Krašići, a small town on the Lustica Peninsula. A residential neighbourhood with fresh air and a relaxing, friendly atmosphere, the views all around are dazzling. Historically, the village produced lots of fragrant olive oil and delicious wine that would be exported around Montenegro. Today, there are a handful of charming beach bars and the town is very close to the famous Porto Montenegro, where jet-setters and celebrities keep their luxurious yachts.
Secluded the villa may be, and while we wouldn’t blame if you never left its comforting embrace, some of Montenegro’s most charming towns are just a short drive away. Kotor has retained its traditional Mediterranean character and will take you on a dreamy architectural journey from Romanic to Baroque. The town is UNESCO-listed and has a spectacular walled Old Town, packed with atmospheric churches and palaces from bygone eras. In summer, Kotor hosts a superb summer festival with open air theatre and plenty of opportunities to see local dancing displays and folklore performances.
Lively Budva town is a great day trip and extremely popular with travellers to Montenegro. A buzzing hive of activity, Budva has an equally charming Old Town and an infectious atmosphere. Get pleasantly lost discovering hidden nooks and crannies around the narrow streets and alleyways. There are many boutiques and street stalls to discover here, and several piazzas to enjoy a coffee and people watch. With its imposing stone Venetian walls that once guarded the city from intruders and its cosmopolitan cafes and nightlife, Budva is the beating heart of this stunning Balkan country.
If you’re after some days at the beach, take your pick from the seventeen named beaches that stretch along the coastline from Jaz to Buljarica. This area is known as Budva Riviera. Some great choices for a beach day include Becici beach, where you can go paragliding, and Kamenow, with its crystal-clear turquoise waters and powdery sand. Mogren Beach is the closest to the Old Town, while Jaz beach got the top spot in Lonely Planet’s best beaches in Europe. Stop at a seaside cafe for some fresh seafood and a glass of local wine.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
