The Azalay Morocco

In a desert oasis of green outside the Saharan town of Zagora, you’ll find The Azalay, conceptualised as a meeting of East and West where histories and stories intertwine, where dreams are realised and new inspiration is found
Each room is devoted to the authors and characters that first conjured for us imaginings of the mystical desert sands, and the African continent that lay beyond. From Théodore Monod to Matisse, to Lawrence of Arabia, the period furnishings and decorations have been carefully picked out with their worlds in mind.
This is a unique retreat offering the chance to make excursions three hours into the desert, to an encampment where you can experience the height of luxury miles from civilisation, giving you time to really escape and find some peace. We’ve really never seen anything quite like the desert accommodation on offer, from the arm chairs to the four poster beds the pictures speak for themselves.The Azalay is located in the palmeraie.  It is 5 km before Zagora , when you’re coming from Ouarzazat. The best activity to do when you’re in the lodge is bike ride in the palmtrees and discover the traditional KSAR of tissergat. The Azalay ‘zagora’ is 2h30 drive from Ouarzazate and 6 hours drive from Marrakech Our Camp is 3 hours drive from The Azalay and a 4×4 is necessary to get there, where working with a transport agency, that can handle your transfer to & from the camp by 4×4 with a driver for the price of 1800 dhs.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
