This magnificent estate is tucked away in the quiet outskirts of Paris, only 15 minutes to the center by train. Much like Marie-Antoinette’s hamlet, the property was originally the country estate of aristocrats who sought a rural escape from life in the city.
The house was completely modernized in 1897. At the time, its Parisian owners transformed it into a very comfortable home, while still imprinting it with the architectural authenticity of the “Belle Epoque”. Set on 6 hectares of picturesque grounds, the home sits poetically against the greenery of the area.
Renovated in 2009, the house is spacious and bright. The owners have carefully decorated the rooms with collectibles acquired while traveling and variety of artwork. The result is a very personal and unique place, ideally used as a relaxing family house. Spread over two floors, the house has 7 rooms and can accommodate 10 to 12 people.  
The grounds have benefited from two landscaping designs, the first was done in 1800 and the second in the last century. Around the edges of the estate, there is a surrounding forest of beech trees. Beautiful cedars shade the front of the house, while an avenue of lime trees planted in 1850 pleasantly scent the air. In the park, a garden and an orchard still produce in season fruits and vegetables. These grounds are meticulously maintained all year around and for this, the estate was included in the Inventory of Historical Monuments in 2005.
Maison Migneaux is the perfect getaway destination, only 15 minutes from Paris, the property offers guests the best of both worlds. Whether you feel like just sitting back and enjoying the french countryside, or popping into Paris and visiting the sites. It is wonderful for group gatherings.
The estate is located in the town of Poissy, east of the Yvelines department, near the royal cities of Versailles and Saint-Germain en Laye. World famous for the Villa Savoye, designed by the Swiss architect Le Corbusier, Poissy is a chic residential city in the western suburbs of Paris. Strategically located at the exit of the A14 motorway, it is easy to reach the capital (15 minutes). Along the Seine and surrounded by unspoiled nature, the place is known as one of the cradles of the French Impressionist movement.
Keeping with the tradition and culture of French Impressionism and the “Belle Epoque” art of living, one should explore some of these attractions:
– Taking a traditional boat ride from, Chatou, and visit the famous Impressionist Island (20km). – Visit the Musée d’Orsay in Paris – Go to see the races at the Longchamp or Saint Cloud race courses. – Visit the famous gardens of Giverny where Monet got his inspirations of the water lilies (20 minute drive along highway A13) and enjoy lunch at Jardin des Plumes. – Visit Auvers-sur-Oise, where famous impressionists artists got their inspirations as well as the village of residence for Van Gogh, the multi-media museum detailing the history of impressionism is a must (80km).
