Sitting at the heart of a picturesque fishing village on the Puglia coast near the town of Fasano is Casa Dalmazia, an elegant and beautifully furnished water-front apartment. Situated within a grand mansion that dates back to the early 1900s, it has retained many original features for a feeling of history and heritage throughout.
The apartment also boasts a spacious terrace overlooking the sea. From here you can enjoy stunning views over the water, as well as those of the historic port and the surrounding coast. The interior of Casa Dalmazia reflects its proximity to the sea with a subtle seaside theme. A soothing, marine-hued colour palette, rustic wood features and striped soft furnishings all work together to make you feel relaxed and content.
The bright living room is the perfect place to make the most of the peace and quiet. There’s a choice of comfortable sofa bed or elegant armchair that both invite you to sit back and relax. The double sofa bed can accommodate two guests. Unwind after long days by snuggling up and watching the television in the evenings. A small kitchen is located next to this living space, making it convenient to get drinks and snacks. Enjoy laidback dinners at the dining table that’s ideally positioned by a balcony offering sea views. Just off this dining space is a relaxation area with sofa, with a beautiful bathroom also close by. A staircase leads to a mezzanine level with a bedroom that features a king size bed.
A fantastic feature is the large terrace that overlooks the port and sea. It’s home to an outdoor kitchen and a pergola with dining table for enjoying al fresco meals. The terrace also features a seating area with large sofa and variety of plants and flowers adding to the tranquil feel.
Casa Dalmazia is in an ideal position for exploring the attractions of the pretty seaside village that it sits within. Just a short walk away are the historic port, sandy beaches and the sea itself. There are plenty of seafood restaurants for sampling some fresh local produce for lunch or dinner. One of Puglia’s most-famous golf courses is also nearby; making the apartment’s location perfect for keen golfers. The town of Fasano is within easy driving distance, as are the villages and countryside of the Valle d’Itria.Just a five-minute walk from the apartment is the village’s historic port with its huge choice of restaurants. Take a leisurely stroll around the port’s harbour to enjoy watching the boats coming and going and work up an appetite for lunch or dinner. Many of the restaurants have menus bursting with locally-caught fresh fish and seafood. You can also find several bars and gelaterias within easy walking distance. For stocking up on groceries, you’ll want to head to the town of Fasano (8km), which is less than a 15-minute drive away.
Naturally, there are many beaches and lidos up and down the coast in this area. Lido Ottagono (1.5km) is a great beach club with plenty of facilities available. The resort town of Torre Canne (7km) boasts some of the most popular beaches, with them offering beautiful white sand and clear waters for swimming. Stunning Parco Dune Costiere (17km) is just a little further along the coast. There are also natural hot springs to visit in Torre Canne. Their mineral-rich waters are said to have all sorts of beautifying properties. You can also go horseback riding here and try lots of exciting watersports.
The apartment is close to the Valle d’Itria area; famous for its lush countryside and charming villages. These villages include Ostuni (26km) and Martina Franca (27km). There’s also Alberobello (28km), which is famous for its streets lined by traditional trulli with their distinctive cone-shaped roofs.
Drive around 20 minutes north of Casa Dalmazia and you’ll reach the city of Monopoli (16km). Its wonderful historic centre still remains, around which the modern city has grown.
