Villa Atacaya Indonesia
Holiday Home Rental Description
The gentle, relaxing sound of a myriad of water features permeate the atmosphere at Villa Atacaya. Stunning fountains, sacred fish ponds and a holy spring nestle among the sights and sounds of the tropical jungle. Towering trees sway above the densely forested Yeh Penet river, and at the centre of the villa, a garden courtyard is bordered by a beautiful turquoise infinity pool.
The villa is spread over three levels, built into the bank of the river with Balinese open plan living at its core. Five dazzling bedrooms have king size beds with varying pops of colour in the cushions and bedspreads. Striking contemporary art pieces hang on the walls, while floor to ceiling windows ensure plenty of light and air flows around – this villa really has been designed to harmonise with the elements.
Take a deep breath and gaze out at your incredible surroundings from the balcony – one bedroom even has a charming window seat with valley views. Yoga lovers will find the special deck a real highlight, while the bale bengong relaxation pavilion provides ample space to switch off and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The dramatic thatched roof is in keeping with Balinese heritage design, which is to use exclusively natural materials. Exposed beams add a stylish touch.
In the master bedroom, the real star of the show is the awe-inspiring ensuite bathroom. Blending an enclosed rain shower with a private outdoor water garden featuring a river rock bathtub; it couldn’t be more luxurious. Guest bedrooms also have rain showers and are intricately decorated with red Indian slate.
There’s a range of dining options at this villa – enjoy a feast in the alfresco courtyard area surrounded by foliage, or in the open-sided living room complete with a bar. If you’re in need of some indoor time, take respite in the cosy media room with satellite television, a DVD player and Bose sound system.
At night, the villa is illuminated by ambient lighting that reflects beautifully in the shimmering pool.Hidden away in the quaint village of Beraban among a jungle-fringed river gorge, this location is truly exotic. Close to Tabanan’s rolling countryside known as the ‘rice bowl’ of Bali, the villa is in a quiet and serene setting, perfect for those who want to get away from it all.
Largely untouched by tourism and development that other areas have seen in recent years, this area is more authentically Balinese. Friendly locals still greet tourists with a smile and there’s a myriad of activities in the area.
Gain great insight into traditional Balinese life from visiting the rice paddies and tea plantations in the area. This line of work has gone undisturbed for generations and the most famous rice terraces are right there in Tabanan.
The Jutilwah rice terraces at the foot of Mount Batakuru will thrill and interest any visitor. Enjoy the sweeping vistas of lush greenery as you stroll through the fields that were a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site candidate. Expansive tea plantations dot the landscape – why not take a tour, learn about how it’s produced and of course sample a range of delicious teas.
The nearest beach for surfing is Echo Beach which is 8km from the villa. Learn to surf in three days on a specially designed masterclass – you’ll be ready to hang ten on Bali’s world-class breaks in no time! The pronounced swells on the island’s long beach breaks attract surfers from all around the world and there’s always a fantastic atmosphere. Echo beach is popular with locals and tourists alike for a sundowner.
Bali is known as the ‘Island of the Gods’ and after visiting some of the mesmerising temples, you’ll find out why. Pura Tanah Lot is just 4km away – a religious site perched high atop a wave-lashed rock formation.
It’s believed that the temple here protects Bali from evil sea spirits. Pura Tanah Lot is also a popular spot for sunset. To truly observe the power of the sea temple, visit early in the morning where you can witness a local offering ceremony.
If you want to treat yourself, spend a day in Seminyak – a playground for those who enjoy the finer things in life. Seminyak beach has an irresistible buzz and is full of beach clubs and fancy spas where you can spend a day getting pampered. You can rent a cabana here and enjoy delicious food on the beach.
