Villa Alvino is a truly classic Sicilian estate. The style is antique and elegant, but the letting has been perfectly renovated to accommodate the modern holidaygoer. On your way to the villa, you’ll stroll through the villa’s expansive outdoor area; home to luxury features such as 9000 sqm of exotic garden, and a beautiful arbour adorned with trailing vines. Enjoy the atmosphere of the garden from the comfort of the elegant garden furniture on one of the property’s twin porches, or head down the little marble staircase into the 12x8m salt water pool to cool off in the Mediterranean heat.
Once inside, you’ll find a spacious, 100sqm living area. The space is elegantly furnished, featuring comfy couches, original period furniture such as wooden console tables, and traditional Sicilian art and decorations. The centerpiece of the living room is the magnificent, ornate fireplace, complemented by beautiful tapestry carpets, cosy sofas, and large windows with a perfect view of the garden.
Walking through the airy villa, you’ll come to the dining room. The rustic style of the space is completed by elegant wooden  tables and chairs, a ceramic thermo-fireplace, and a cut away-wall opening the space out onto the garden – though the room also boasts a corner with cosy armchairs, an overhead reading light, and Sat-TV. Head across to the nearby kitchen, and you’ll find a unique fusion of traditional Sicilian style and modern cooking equipment – the majolica tiled wall is a stunning highlight, as are the beautiful, decorative copper pots and pans adorning the wall.
Moving to the bedrooms, you have four spacious, air-conditioned rooms to choose from. The master bedroom features a huge en-suite bathroom, complete with marble floor, shower cubicle and luxurious bathtub. The second double bedroom also boasts an en-suite, but the highlight of this room is the bed – which features a beautiful carved wooden headboard, painted in late 19th century Sicilian style. Two more bedrooms are situated downstairs in a snug basement area, each boasting an en-suite bathroom complete with shower.
This antique villa is 100% eco-friendly, with a state of the art photovoltaic underground heating system which also supplies the property’s electricity. The kitchen sink features a water purifier, so you’ll never need to buy bottled water, and the garden is maintained  using a sophisticated rain water irrigation system. The friendly caretaker leaves near the villa, and will happily offer advice and answer any questions you have about the villa, its features, or life in Sicily.
