This charming villa is situated just five minutes from a beautiful beach, and is surrounded by expansive and fragrant olive groves. These may be looked upon from a spacious panoramic terrace accessible via one of the twin rooms. The interior is decorated with attractive ornaments, traditional Sicilian majolica tiles and adorned with traditional and well-chosen furniture as well as a rustic fireplace. The property is a renovated farm house, and retains that character whilst offering the comfort of a quaint and relaxing villa.
Outside, there is a private swimming pool which is adjacent to a wonderful outdoor bar; the possibilities of this luxurious combination are self-evident!  The open plan, ground floor dining area leads, via French windows which brighten this space, to the large Mediterranean garden and BBQ area. The garden is full of colourful and exotic plants and is surrounded by lush vegetation.
Excitingly, the property is located just a few kilometres from the Selinunte Archaeological Park. This is one of the best locations in Europe – let alone Sicily – for majestic Greek ruins, and is a must for taking in the breath-taking and well preserved history Sicily has to offer.
The villa is just a few kilometres from one of the most impressive archaeological sites in the Mediterranean. On a par with pretty much anything found in Greece itself, Selinunte has lain abandoned for over 2,000 years, its numerous temples, acropolis and agora in dignified ruins.
Selinunte is beautifully located, sitting on a high plain and overlooking the sea. It is flanked on either side by golden beaches and, being almost 1km wide, is an excellent excuse for a good walk, though it is also possible to get around on electric buggies. It is a great day out for families with kids. Combine it with a visit to the beach at Marinella, where there is a great restaurant, La Pineta!
Just half an hour drive from the property is the beautiful town of Mazara del Vallo It boasts the largest fishing fleet in Italy, a world famous Dancing Satyr netted from the sea, a North African Kasbah in the town centre and some delightful architecture. The town has a captivating mix of culture, history, ethnicity and art.
Going into the town provides excellent day out. Its old centre, running along the banks of the Mazaro river, has much to see, including a variety of churches, the beautiful Piazza delle Repubblica, a fascinating, bustling fishing harbour and, thanks to the presence of so many Tunisians, some excellent fish couscous!At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
