A modern and luxurious beauty on the very edge of the Lake District, Kendal Green House is a vast home full of space and natural light with an emphasis on comfort and style.
A stylish and striking slate and stone exterior greets you as you pull into the large private driveway and approach the grand entrance – and at this point, get ready to be blown away by the views from your open-plan living area! The interiors embody the sense of grandeur immediately, with huge open spaces and full walls of windows! From the entrance, a grand double oak staircase will deliver you to the main living space on the first-floor. Modern elegance abounds in this delightfully contemporary home, including a 55” TV with Sky in the ground-floor living room and a state-of-the-art kitchen with spectacular amenities and sleek lighting on the first-floor. There’s a fabulously formal dining area alongside the kitchen, and on this floor you’ll find the second lavish living room with an enormous sofa and a TV to match it!
There are five spectacular bedrooms, all of which will leave you speechless! The master suite features a full wall of panoramic windows, inviting you to marvel at the vibrant landscape beyond, as well as a huge TV. Accompanying it is a vast bathroom with a very special Jacuzzi bathtub, a double-size walk-in rain-shower and a double vanity sink. There is a second room with a king-size bed and three twin rooms all of which can be set up as super-king-size rooms if preferred. All five rooms have a large TV and ensuite facilities, and the ground-floor room even has a private terrace!
Step outside to enjoy your fabulous private garden, complete with a seating area and well-kept lawns and even a fish pond! On the terrace you can indulge in alfresco meals like you’re in the Med! Just a 5-minute drive from Kendal and only 15 minutes from Lake Windermere, the largest lake in England, the Lake District paradise beckons on the horizon and you can enjoy the best of both worlds in this excellently positioned home! And what’s more, you’re in prime position on the first tee of Carus Green Golf Club, where you can enjoy half price green fees! Kendal is a quaint yet extraordinary market-town just one mile from the Lake District National Park official boundary and nine miles from Windermere and was once an incredibly an important centre for trade and commerce. It boasts two castles, two museums (including the Museum of Natural History and Archaeology, one of the oldest museums in the country), and many fine restaurants and pubs, as well as no less than five shopping arcades! The skyline is wonderfully varied and totally fascinating, including a 14th century Castle Dairy, Kendal Castle and Castle Howe, Abbot Hall Museum, Kendal Museum, a host of churches and chapels and endless rows of houses all lined up in a charming myriad of styles, eras and heights!
Something of a mecca for cyclists, walkers and water-sports enthusiasts, the landscapes awaiting you have to be seen to be believed! Leave the car behind and lose yourself in the fresh air! For the true adventurers, unbeatable skiing, climbing and mountain-biking can be found throughout the Park, while more relaxing pursuits including boat hire and golf can be found a stone’s throw away.
Nearby attractions including the Lakes Aquarium, with the UK’s largest collection of freshwater fish, the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, where you can enjoy a 3.5-mile steam locomotive trip into the Leven Valley and the delightful World of Beatrix Potter, where the fabulous animals of Beatrix Potter’s tales are brought to life in three dimensions! All make for a great day out for all ages and can easily be combined for those short on time thanks to their proximity.
The Lake District is England’s largest National Park, with more than 3100km of rights of way, you can walk, cycle and ride yourself silly through this enchanting valley as you marvel at some of the world’s best scenery! Adventure courses, boat hire, all kinds of water-sports and much more ensure you can take the Lakes at your own pace, be that racing down the mountains on a bike, fell-running up them or gliding through them on a Launch, the possibilities are endless!
Carlisle, Leeds and Newcastle airports are all within a 2-hour drive or thereabouts, and there are train stations dotted throughout the National Park, so accessing the house on public transport is certainly possible.
