Maison Charme et Beauté is a very special place… an impressive stone house dating from the 17th-Century set in the ancient walls of a 13th-Century medieval hilltop village.
Weave your way through the narrow cobblestone streets, enter its courtyard filled with fragrant flowers and let yourself be transported to another world where antiquity and modern luxury will leave you wondering where you are!
The panorama from here may stop you from ever leaving – it sweeps across valleys and vineyards to the plains of the Rhône. The breathtaking view from the rooftop terrace will make you linger there all day long and it has been made just for that, with sun-loungers, dining table and chairs and a large gas barbecue.
Inside, this stunning village house is spacious and beautiful. Recently restored to a high standard with exquisite taste and attention to detail. It offers comfort and style with plenty of character and charming original features and materials.
Castillon du Gard is a real bijou village where you can soak up all the beauty. From the house you can stroll to a quality butcher, baker, small convenience shop and several restaurants, two of which are exceptional, as well as a luxury boutique hotel with spa. From here you can also visit the desirable towns of Avignon or Nimes which are only a 30-minute drive away, whilst just an easy 20-minute drive away is the elegant market town of Duchy of Uzès. All of beautiful Provence is on your door step.
Maison Charme et Beauté is a home to remember with the quintessential beauty and charm of the South of France and all it has to offer.The medieval village of Castillon du Gard boasts quaint little alleyways, charming old buildings and centuries of history. From the viewpoints you can enjoy beautiful views over the Gardon valley and catch sight of the Pont du Gard Bridge. Beyond this picturesque village you can explore the local countryside on foot following one of the many hiking trails and return for evening entertainment at the town festivals or concerts which often take place throughout the summer months. This is a lovely but simple little village with good restaurants, a baker and excellent butcher.
Uzès is one of the prettiest historic towns in the area, only about 20mins drive away from Castillon du Gard. Visit the Place des Herbes and sit at a café enjoying a coffee whilst watching the local life bustle past. Markets which most locals go to are on Wednesday and Saturday morning, and are worth a visit.
Similarly, the cities of Nimes and Avignon are both nearby and are highly recommended places to visit. Nimes is drenched in history, originating from the Roman era, there is a 2000 year old amphitheatre, Roman Temple and multiple museums to accompany these remarkable artefacts. Between museums, stroll through the old town with its trendy shops and restaurants, café lined streets and food markets and indulge yourselves in all the delicious produce on offer in the region.
Similarly, Avignon is full of history, art, culture and life. Registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Popes’ Palace, the Bridge of Avignon and the Palace Square are just a few of the marvellous attractions on offer in this historical town with activities for all the family to enjoy.
