These interiors present a wonderfully relaxing space in which to pop your feet up as you kick back on this huge sofa in the living room, in front of the TV and fireplace, with a bonus wood-burner at its heart. This immense kitchen is a joy to use, with everything you could need to whip up a storm and delight your other guests. Elegant detailing, striking ceiling beams and traditional cream cabinets set against a stone wall make for a stunning environment in which to both cook and dine, with a dining table here in addition to the sublime alfresco dining area.
All four of these enchanting bedrooms echo the rustic, traditional qualities of the villa, with a range of unique wooden headboards, stone interior walls and fascinating hints of local culture in the wonderful décor and artworks. Three of the rooms enjoy fabulous double beds, including one king-size bed, while the last features two singles. The fourth bedroom is located in the guest house alongside the main villa, ideal for two or three guests who enjoy a little extra privacy, with a kitchen and separate outdoor space! Three bathrooms alongside the bedrooms are all equally stylish, with marble and wood throughout and fantastic showers!
Stepping outside, on this expansive veranda, there’s a super cosy chill-out zone, with an elevated decking with huge cushions and mats for blissful comfort! Alongside this is a fabulous long dining table for enjoying memorable meals with the whole group in the fresh air. Your upper terrace, meanwhile, has a stunning terrace area ideal for breakfast, or even a coffee in the mild morning warmth, with views for miles over the leafy landscape and the mountains in the distance! There are several more casual seating areas throughout this enchanting garden, including coffee tables and lovely large sofas. Just a few meters from the house is your incredible private pool, with an inbuilt massage function, set within this flourishing garden bursting with trees, olive groves and even a patch growing lettuce, tomatoes, courgette, beans and peppers! There’s also a lovely lawn for the kids to enjoy, so there’s truly something for everyone.Tucked on this luscious hillside, in between a pine forest and an olive grove, Villa Bahar is ideally placed just outside Bodrum, and only 800m from the nearest shop. And around 5km away you’ll find plenty more supermarkets, shops and even a famous market every Sunday morning, selling all kinds of organic products.
Bodrum itself is an incredibly vibrant city that combines ancient sites and winding streets with lively markets, including the farmers’ markets, and boutique shops. Whether you’re after an original souvenir, trying the local produce or one of the signature hand-made rugs, you’re sure to find it here! Don’t miss the exquisite marina bursting with restaurants and bars and be sure to have a saunter around the city’s ancient tombs, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The ruins in Halicarnassus, Bodrum Amphitheatre and Bodrum Castle are all simply unmissable while you’re in the area, with epic views and an even more impressive architecture and history.
This hilltop location is excellent for active days out, be it hiking or biking on the mountain bikes provided. What’s more – watersports fans will delight in a stay in this area, as there are countless Blue Flag beaches along the picturesque coastline nearby. You can charter a boat in many of the nearby marinas, or else try your hand at jet-skiing, sea kayaking, scuba diving or parasailing, or simply stick to the trusty snorkelling! The sublime Mediterranean climate, reaching 40°C every summer, with a water temperature of around 28°C in the Mediterranean Sea, really is perfect for a traditional day at the beach!
The rich history of Turkey makes for an excellent holiday – castles and forts from the indigenous populations and later the Romans are in various states of ruin, while magnificent citadels await you in the outskirts of the cities, across the valleys and on the striking hilltops! The local cuisine is a fascinating mixture of typical Turkish fast food döner, elaborate mezze, quaint fish restaurants and even the Middle Eastern-inspired vegetarian and vegan treats from over the border! This is a nation passionate about their food, and with a service to match, heading out for any meal is sure to be a highlight of your trip – even breakfast, which is one of their favourites!
