Villa Burak Turkey
Holiday Home Rental Description
Magnificent in both its location and specification, the delightful Villa Burak enjoys a Mediterranean outlook on Turkey’s southern coast. Overlooking beautiful Kalamar Bay, in the Kalkan area of Antalya, the villa sits 600m from the sea and has the Taurus mountains in its sights too.
Complete with a gloriously large private pool (that’s 21m x 3m), this brand new villa can accommodate up to 12 guests in its six impressive bedrooms. There’s plenty more to enjoy alongside the outdoor pool, with a parade of sun loungers and a nearby seating area perfect for taking it easy all day long. Come dinner time, there’s nowhere better to eat and be merry than the outdoor dining area – the table comfortably seats 10 and there’s a barbecue.
During the day, plenty of light streams inside, giving a fresh feel to the open-plan kitchen and living areas. You will find all you need here, with ample seating, a TV with satellite channels, Wi-Fi and another great dining space for 12, where the amazing views continue.
Opening out onto the terrace and barbecue area, the kitchen comes well equipped, with a huge American-style fridge freezer, dishwasher, oven, microwave, washing machine and a central island. This open-plan area is fully air-conditioned too, keeping it super-comfortable.
The six bedrooms are spread across Villa Burak’s two floors. On the ground floor, you’ll find both a double and a twin room, each with en suite shower, while the upper floor offers three doubles and another twin. Again, these rooms come with exquisite en suite facilities – all have a shower, and two of the doubles offer the luxury of an in-room whirlpool bath too. With direct access to the furnished upper terraces, you’ll be able to appreciate the wondrous sea views from the moment you rise each morning – maybe even straight from the tub.
A short distance from the centre of Kalkan, Villa Burak is situated in a quiet residential area. The town is much more than your average resort, offering a mix of history, culture, sport, shopping and a particularly impressive range of dining options – it’s said that Kalkan has more restaurants and bars per person than anywhere else on the Turkish coast. The town is known for its many rooftop eateries that enjoy wonderful views of a harbour which looks spectacular as night falls.
Justifiably popular with visitors, elegant Kalkan enchants with plenty of Turkish customs – you may come across folk dancers and belly dancers during your stay, and you are sure to be impressed by the beautiful crafts and carpets on sale around town. Walking Kalkan’s winding streets is a pleasure in itself, and with its turquoise ocean and white sands, this town really is an unmissable coastal destination.
Found at the foot of the Taurus Mountains on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast, the town of Kalkan displays a rich history and maintains a traditional feel. While largely dependent on tourism, the town hasn’t lost the sense of what it has been for centuries. Old, whitewashed houses line the streets which meander their way towards the beautiful harbour – the architecture that shapes the look and feel of the town is more likely to point to its Ottoman Greek past than the modern, high-rise style that characterises some resorts.
Residents of Kalkan are proud of their town and have many good reasons to be. The pretty Old Town is a welcoming place, and the hospitality of the locals is both evident and genuine – you may be offered a small, tulip-shaped glass of tea, or çay in the street!
What’s more, it’s a fantastic place to dine out in the sunshine. Kalkan’s rooftop restauarants and bars are the stuff of legend. With such stunning Mediterranean views, it’s no surprise many visitors don’t leave much before midnight, although with multiple courses of amazing local fare and Turkish coffee to get through, you might be there a while in any case. Fresh fish and seafood are a menu staple – just another perk of the enchanting location.
You won’t find strips of nightclubs in Kalkan, but you can enjoy jazz and other live music in small bars around town, some of which offer the opportunity for a bit of dancing too. You can expect to encounter some local flavour at many venues, whether it’s hookah pipes, gypsy bands, shots of raki or, of course, belly dancing.
Kalkan prides itself on a hassle-free shopping experience, and the colourful crafts, clothes and carpets you will see being traded all add character to a trip to the Old Town. Antiques, jewellery and hand-woven rugs are amongst the attractions – even if you’re not in the market to buy, it’s well worth taking a look around.
You will find a white, pebble beach beside the harbour in Kalkan, where you rent a lounger and parasol and soak up as much sun as you choose. The area’s most popular sandy beaches are within reach too. Around 20 minutes’ drive away, or accessible by bus, Patara is home to the longest beach in Turkey, while the closer Kaputas is another particularly scenic stretch. You will find many beach clubs along the coast too, offering water-sports, dining, infinity pools and other temptations.
Beyond Kalkan, the region offers everything from high-adrenaline activity to total relaxation. From jet-skiing and paraglilding to ancient ruins and sunset sea cruises, you’ll find something to suit you pace. You could even pop across to the Greek islands which lie not too far from this part of the Turkish coast.
