Villa Elma is set in its own private spot, enjoying the seclusion and sea views, whilst being just one kilometre from Kalkan centre, and not much further to the beach (1.5km.)  Formerly a humble fishing village with a small harbour and cobbled lanes, Kalkan is a today a bustling holiday destination full of quality sea-food restaurants, cafés, bars and eclectic textiles boutiques. The charming harbour is characterised by its beautiful waters (aptly known as the ‘turquoise coast’) with colourful boats and gulets (traditional local fishing boats). This cosmopolitan town is mainly free from mass tourism and is perfect for exploring the timeless beauty of ancient Lycia’s pine-clad shores. The rustic, yet pretty centre is a treasure trove of narrow streets and white-washed Ottoman-style houses. There is an attractive smattering of harbour sidebars and rooftop terraces, serving fresh seafood meals under the stars.  Kas (43 km distance), is known for its adorable streets lined with pink bougainvillaea blossom, and a little further west of Kas is one of the coast’s finest beaches, Kaputas; a magical spot where the fresh mountain water meets the sea. The ancient ruins at Patara (16km distance) is the former major naval and trading port of Lycia, at the mouth of the Xanthos river, and makes for an excellent day out, whilst the 12-kilometre long beach is voted one of the finest in the region.  Fethiye Harbour is only a fifteen-minute drive, offering a charming old-town experience, brimming with souvenirs boutiques, as well as the main Lycian rock tombs (the tomb of Amyntas), while ending the day with the amazing views of Fethiye marina with a cool drink finishes the day off beautifully. With the majestic Taurus mountain range as a backdrop, access to small-town life and sumptuous local cuisine, this part of Turkey has much to love, for water sports enthusiasts, history lovers or simply those in search of an authentic experience.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
