Five-bedroomed Villa Zeri couldn’t be more serene and stylish if it tried. The spacious villa is in the Turkish hillside and boasts panoramic views of Kalkan town and the glittering Mediterranean coastline. With large floor-to-ceiling windows, glass-fronted balconies and a sea-facing infinity pool, you can’t escape the breath-taking vistas (trust us, you won’t want to). By day, bask in the sun on a lounger and cool off in the pool’s clear waters. By night, sip on a glass of wine while surveying the romantic lit-up mountain scene below or head to one of Kalkan’s famous roof-top restaurants.
With sleek white-washed walls, cool contemporary interiors and oodles of natural light that reflects off the turquoise sea, the design of Villa Zeri certainly sings with style. Furnishings come in a modern spectrum of greys and beiges with natural wood features and plenty of glass creating an extra feeling of light and space. There’s also an open-plan living, kitchen and dining area with everything you might need for hassle-free cooking and dining, including an oven and eight-seater table.
On this floor, there are three bedrooms: two doubles and a twin, all with en-suite shower rooms and sea-view balconies. With a utility area equipped with a washing machine and an iron too, you can look and feel your everyday best. Climb up the marble spiral staircase, and you’ll reach the second floor where there’s another sumptuous double bedroom with an en-suite shower room and direct access to the roof terrace. See if you can spot beautiful Mouse and Snake Islands in the distance.
Perhaps the main stand out feature though is the magnificent swimming pool, featuring a spa-like Jacuzzi, shallower children’s section and an area in which sun loungers can be placed. We must give honourable mentions to the outdoor alfresco dining table and comfortable shaded seating area too, making meal times or relaxing afternoons a real treat. Set in a peaceful spot, yet only a 20-minute walk from vibrant Kalkan centre, Villa Zeri really gives you the best of both worlds – enjoy!With a stunning central location in the popular holiday town of Kalkan, Turkey, Villa Zeri is an ideal choice. You’re within a short walk of all the amenities like shops and supermarkets, as well as the town centre with its pretty streets, colourful markets and roof-top restaurants. Kalkan sits on a bay and has a beautiful boat-lined harbour with cafes and restaurants facing the turquoise coastline. Spend afternoons exploring the narrow streets or head to a bazaar (markets) for everything from handmade rugs to small souvenirs and fresh produce. Finish the day at one of the restaurants that boast magnificent views over the town and the coastline. Whether you’re after traditional Turkish cuisine like hearty meat dishes and seafood mezes or international fare, you’re in for a real treat.
Kalkan is also renowned for its beautiful sandy swimming beaches. Villa Zeri is a short drive or bus ride (Dolmus) away from popular Kaputas Beach with crystal-clear waters and Patara Beach, a 12-mile long stretch of shoreline that’s also a National Park. Both have day beach clubs as well as calm waters that are ideal for swimming. You can relax on the sand or take part in water sports like sea kayaking and parasailing. To see Kalkan from a different perspective, you can jump on a traditional wooden gullet from the harbour and take a trip around the bays, stopping off for swimming.
By boat or kayak, you can visit the Kekova island where you can explore the part-sunken ruins of Dolchiste, an ancient town which was destroyed by an earthquake during the 2nd century. Boats usually leave from Kas, a lively town which is a 30-minute drive from Kalkan. Kas also has the impressive ancient site of  Antiphellos, with still-visible ruins including a theatre. For more fun day trips, you could head to the seaside resort town of Fethiye, a one-hour drive away. It has plenty of top-notch restaurants, shops and fascinating cultural sites too that are well worth a visit.
