Swan Cottage is truly a small slice of heaven, situated in a tranquil spot on the banks of the River Test, in the renowned Chilbolton Cow Common, a designated area of Scientific Special Interest. The home is located in Chilbolton village, in easy reaching distance of Stockbidge and Winchester where a wide variety of family-friendly amenities and attractions, including shops and restaurants, can be found.
Originally dating back to 1744, the period cottage has been modernised in recent years while still retaining all of its original charm and character. The home can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests across its four beautifully appointed bedrooms. On the ground floor is the main living accommodation, featuring multiple entertaining rooms including a sitting room, drawing room, dining room and a fully-equipped kitchen giving the whole group plenty of room to socialise together. Upstairs are the four bedrooms, a master with an en-suite shower room, two double rooms and a twin which share the use of two family bathrooms.
Outside, the terrace makes the perfect setting to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining during the Summer months. The garden overlooks the River Test making it an ideal choice for those wanting a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.Swan Cottage holds an excellent location in the small village of Chilbolton, here there is a small village stores and a pub. Situated in the heart of the Test Valley, an area known for its rolling hills, there are a wide variety of picturesque villages in the surrounding areas with thatched cottages, pretty churches and country pubs. The small town of Stockbridge is less than a 10-minute drive away, home to a number of independent shops and eateries, it is the perfect place to pick up some yummy local produce! The larger town of Andover is less than a 15-minute drive from the house, here a wider selection of helpful amenities including shops and restaurants can be found.
The city of Winchester is less than 25-minutes from Swan Cottage, home to one of Britain’s greatest Cathedrals and the popular Marwell Zoo, it makes a fantastic day out for the whole family. The near-by Cathedral city of Salisbury is less than 35-minutes away, while the iconic Stonehenge is less than a 30-minute drive away. For those travelling with small children, Paulton’s Park, Home of Peppa Pig World, is 35-minutes away.
