Perched on the hillside above the Cala Baladrar, this modern villa enjoys lovely views over the surrounding area and is the perfect spot to spend a relaxing break beneath the warm Mediterranean sun.
Built into the side of a rocky slope, Villa Bala is arranged over two floors, with a generous terrace that extends outward to make the most of the views across the valley. Entering from the upper level, a staircase leads down to the main living area, where a large sofa and TV offer a comfortable space to relax inside or watch a movie in the evening. In the adjoining space, there is a generous dining area, with a table to seat six, which then leads through to the kitchen. Well-equipped, the kitchen has a modern finish with colourful cabinets, and a round table positioned to one side is perfect for enjoying a quick bite to eat. There is also a guest toilet on this floor.
Accessed by the central stairs, all of the bedrooms can be found on the lower level. The spacious main bedroom has a double bed and large sliding doors leading out onto the balcony, perfect for waking up and enjoying the morning sun. It also benefits from a private bathroom with a generous walk-in shower. There is a further double room and a third room with two single beds, both having access to a shared bathroom and shower. All three rooms contain air conditioning, ensuring you can find a comfortable temperature even during the hottest summer nights.
From the living room, double doors open out onto the glorious outdoor space. Extending along the side of the hill, the terrace is enclosed by a long stone wall giving a feeling of complete privacy. A large swimming pool invites you to take a refreshing swim or recline in one of the sun loungers lining its edge and gaze up at the clear blue skies whilst soaking up the sun. Thin railings wrap the terrace edge, allowing you to take in the expansive view across the surrounding area and down towards the sea. Why not enjoy sitting in one of the armchairs, and enjoy the warm evenings with a cold glass of wine whilst watching the light fade over the valley?
To the side of the house, a mounted canopy offers a shaded outdoor dining area. A small countertop runs the length of the wall, with a sink and preparation space, whilst the barbecue is ideal for grilling some local fish and enjoying a meal outside with all the family.

Situated on the hillside of this beautiful Mediterranean region, Villa Bala enjoys a peaceful setting whilst being just a short walk from the coast. The charming cove of Cala Baladrar is protected by a rocky outcrop, and the pebbled beach gives way to clear blue waters. There is a small beach bar for refreshments, or you can relax in the evening with a beer and listen to some live music whilst enjoying the sun fading over the sea.
The neighbouring Cala d’Avocat is an equally lovely spot, and a 10-minute drive brings you to Cala de la Fustera with its charming crescent of fine white sand. A gentle shore gives way to stunning turquoise waters, ideal for a refreshing swim or grabbing a snorkel and exploring the seabed, well known for its rich posidonia seagrass. The Mandala Beach Bar is a perfect spot for lunch, serving up an assortment of traditional tapas plates or sampling the delicious fresh paella whilst enjoying the view out to sea.
From Cala de la Fustera, you can join the scenic coastal trail that follows the line of the cliff down to Calpe. Accessible throughout the year, the walk is suitable for the whole family and invites you to explore the rocky inlets and picturesque coves that dot this stretch of coastline. Arriving at Calpe, you be met by the monumental Penon de Ifach, which gives the landscape its distinctive shape, and for those who fancy a challenge, there is a trail that takes you up to the summit. Accessed via an impressive tunnel cut through the enormous rock, the hike brings you right to the top of the limestone cliff, and at 330m, you are rewarded with a stunning view over the bay and coastline beyond.
The settlement of Calpe has a long history dating back to 1500.B.C, once a small fishing village, the vibrant town is a mixture of Roman ruins, urban parks and modern buildings with many bars and restaurants to enjoy. For a unique experience, take a visit to the Banos de la Reina, an archaeological site built between the 2nd and 4th centuries. Once serving as the royal spa, you can follow in the footsteps of the queen and swim in the site free of charge.
