Rent Villa Coccinelle France
Holiday Home Rental Description
This elegant and contemporary 5-bedroom villa is within walking distance to the exquisite town of Bonifacio, the southernmost tip on the beautiful island of Corsica.
Looking out towards typical Corsican landscapes from the infinity swimming pool and outdoor lounge, this is an idyllic setting considering you are so close to the harbour and citadel. The outdoor space is truly amazing with decked terracing, al-fresco dining by the ancient olive tree, a summer kitchen and gorgeous outdoor lounge facing the swimming pool. Discover the little garden in glorious surroundings – lie back in the hammock and soak up the southern Corsican sunshine.
Step inside and the stylish interiors are just as impressive. The open-plan lounge features Apple TV and leads to the sleek kitchen with its breakfast bar and dining area. There are three double bedrooms and two bathrooms (one ensuite) on this floor whilst upstairs is a stunning master double with king-size bed, ensuite and terrace with valley views. A fifth bedroom can be found in a separate annexe with its own living area.
A stroll down the (unpaved) road takes you to a large supermarket, then continue on towards Bonifacio’s harbour, just 1km away. Sip Corsican rosé or a glass of chilled chestnut beer in a waterside bar or dine out in an upmarket seafood restaurant overlooking the yachts and fishing boats sailing by. Boat trips depart the marina, a wonderful way to tour the coast or reach the remote Lavezzi Islands.
Climb up to the medieval citadel perched above the limestone cliffs and be enchanted by its historic beauty and incredible vistas. Explore the warren of narrow, cobbled lanes and stop off in charming restaurants serving authentic Corsican gastronomy. The most nimble of guests can walk down the steep historic staircase, L’Escalier du Roy d’Aragon, towards the water’s edge.
Drive to pristine sandy beaches – Plage du Grand Sperone is only 6km away, close to the prestigious 18-hole golf course – and look out for summer watersports and boat hire. Porto Vecchio and its famous bays are just over half an hour away or venture to southern Corsica’s hinterland for hiking and other outdoor adventures as you admire the magnificently rugged landscapes of this incredible island.

Villa Coccinelle enjoys a privileged setting just outside the beautiful town of Bonifacio in southern Corsica, within walking distance down a narrow road to the harbour. The nearest airport is Figari whilst ferries arrive from mainland France or Italy into Porto Vecchio, Propriano or Ajaccio/Bastia.
Just walk down the country road (no pavement) and within a few minutes you will find a good sized supermarket. Continue on to Bonifacio’s marina, around 1km from your villa, and stop off for a coffee, apéritif or ice-cream as you watch yachts and fishing boats sail by. Seafood restaurants line the waterside with gorgeous views. Look out for seasonal boat tours of the southern Corsica coastline alongside ferries to the remote Lavezzi Islands (and Sardinia).
Climb up to Bonifacio’s medieval citadel perched above a limestone promontory and be enchanted by the warren of narrow lanes and glimpses of the sea. Little restaurants serving authentic Corsican fare spill out on to the streets – sample chestnuts, wild boar, brocciu cheese and other gastronomic delights of the island. The most energetic can walk down the steep steps, L’Escalier du Roy d’Aragon, towards the sea (check opening times).
Some of southern Corsica’s most idyllic beaches are within a short drive such as Bonifacio’s Plage du Grand Sperone (6km), close to the prestigious 18-hole golf course, and Plage de la Tonnara (10km) towards the Figari coastline. The pristine bays of Porto Vecchio (Santa Giulia and Palombaggia, for example) are around half an hour by car whilst Suartone’s Plage de Rondinara is another picture-perfect beach to consider.
Experience the glamour of Porto Vecchio (28km) with its old town and harbour, or drive north towards the picturesque mountain village of Sartène (52km), known for its outstanding natural beauty and excellent wines.
Meanwhile, explore the island’s rugged interiors as you venture towards Quenza and Aiguilles de Bavella (75km), a paradise for hikers and outdoor adventurists. Slightly closer to home, discover hiking trails and more magnificent scenery around Forêt de l’Ospédale, just under an hour away by car.
