Villa Lorelei is 3 kilometres from the established harbour town Mali Losinj, a 10 minute bike ride or a 5 minute drive to the largest town on both Lošinj and neighbouring island Cres. Take your time and enjoy the beautiful architecture of Mali Losinj harbour, filled with pastel buildings and historic archways and streets. The oldest building in the town is the 14th-century Church of St Martin. Indulge in delicious local cuisine consisting of seafood and locally sourced ingredients garnished with aromatic herbs. There are plenty of local restaurants and cafes for you to try.
Embark on an island hopping boat trip starting from your private mooring outside the villa. These boat trips will allow you to explore the picturesque coastline, discovering hidden coves and beaches, and if you are lucky enough you may even see dolphins! Take a dip in the water off the boat to cool off, or those wanting to delve even deeper should try snorkelling, seeing the creatures who call this coastline home. The sea is home to many other sports that the whole family will enjoy together, including paddleboarding, kayaking, windsurfing, or sailing. Čikat Bay is renowned for its sandy beach and windsurfing opportunities.
The waterpark on the island is an excellent place for families to enjoy the sunshine. Čikat Aquapark is filled with slides, pools and rapids. Explore the island on foot or use the rental bikes with the villa and set off to discover the hidden paths and roads that twist themselves through the rural landscape. Croatia is filled with hidden coves, terracotta roof towns, historical monuments and fortresses, all waiting to be discovered.
Cres is a neighbouring island that you will need to travel through to get to Lošinj island. One of the most biodiverse islands in the Adriatic Sea, Cres is well worth a day trip or two. The second largest island in the Adriatic Sea, Cres, is renowned for its Venetian history and Griffon vulture colonies. A once struggling colony, Cres is now home to a recovering population of Griffon vultures, supported by conservationists, which you can find more information about at the Beli Visitor Centre located north of the island.
