Villa Supernova is right beside the sea, where you can stroll along the promenade beside the small pleasure boats and fishing vessels and stop at one of the beach bars to sit and watch the world go by. Like many small villages on the Dalmatian coast, the local economy is geared towards fishing and wine production. Why not join one of the evenings organised by local fishermen with dancing, fish and wine tastings and, of course, plenty of fun and games? What better way to engage with the local folk?
Not far away is the town of Omis, and here you will find everything you need from stores, banks, cafes and restaurants. Omar has so much to offer for those who are very active, from sea and river kayaking, white water rafting, bungee jumping, to rock climbing. The zipline above Omis is a one-of-a-kind adventure where you can experience zipping across the Centina River canyon 150 metres above ground level.
History lovers will be spoiled for choice in Omis for things to see. The Fortress Mirabella is a 13th Century fortress situated behind the Old Town. It is reached by taking the steps next to the Church of Saint Michael. Although there are a lot of steps to climb, it is well worth the effort for the spectacular views. Apart from the Church of Saint Michael, there are a number of old churches and an old Franciscan Monastery housing an impressive art collection and library of ancient Turkish documents. 15th Century Fortress Starigrad is also well worth a visit. Again, it involves a climb which takes at least one hour, so not for the faint-hearted. Once you have committed to the hike, you will not be disappointed.
Perched 303 metres above sea level, it served as the primary lookout point for the entire Brac channel, and the views you will enjoy will be your reward for your hard work.
Further along the coast from Omis is the cosmopolitan seaside town of Makarska. Popular with families, it offers beautiful beaches, cafes, bars and a lively nightlife.
