Rent Le Lodge Littoral France
Holiday Home Rental Description
A short bike ride from a vast sandy surfing beach, Le Lodge Littoral enjoys a wonderful setting on the edge of forest walking and cycling trails just outside the village of Moliets-et-Maa on the France’s Côte d’Argent in south-western France.
This delightful 5-bedroom lodge can sleep up to 11 guests and features a pretty little garden with a heated swimming pool, ideal for splashing around after a day out surfing, cycling and exploring this fantastic region. Prepare a barbecue as you gather on the benches beneath the pergola which is atmospherically lit up at night. The garden even features its own surf zone where you can leave your boards to dry.
Inside the contemporary lodge, a well-equipped side kitchen is open-plan to the lounge and dining area where you will find the TV, DVD player and Wi-Fi. There are five individual bedrooms – three doubles (one with an en suite shower room), a twin and a triple bedroom with a bunk-bed, alongside a family shower room. Guests can expect air-conditioning throughout as well as toys and books for youngsters.
An array of services can be offered from pre-arrival grocery shopping, a breakfast delivery of pastries and fresh bread each morning and private cook to surfing lessons, horse-riding and other great activities. You can also arrange for bikes to be delivered to the villa so you can explore La Vélodyssée, a network of local cycling paths that connect villages, forest and coast (the cycling route that leads to the ocean is just down the road).
Cycle to the local supermarket and traditional village less than 2km away with its boulangerie, butchers, tabac and restaurant. Continue towards the coast passing a tree-top activity centre, tennis courts and the 18-hole Robert Trent Jones designed golf course. The vast sandy beach and a surfing school are within 3.7km.
For calmer waters, paddle, swim or take a boat trip along the Courant d’Huchet that flows from nearby L’Étang de Léon towards the Atlantic – the nature reserve is perfect for peaceful walking paths. A little further afield, drive to the trendy surfing resort of Hossegor, around half an hour away, or continue south towards the glorious beaches, restaurants and shops of Biarritz and its Basque surroundings.

Le Lodge Littoral is just over a 5-minute drive (or cycle ride) from the sandy dunes and beaches of the Landes coast, also known as the Côte d’Argent. If arriving by aeroplane, Biarritz is the nearest airport whilst San Sebastian and Bordeaux are also worth considering. Alternatively, you can catch a ferry to Bilbao, less than 3 hours by car, or take the direct TGV train service from Paris Gare Montparnasse to Gare de Dax, around 35km away.
Near Moliets-et-Maa (2km), the lodge is in a rural setting yet not isolated with neighbouring houses (including Villa Littoral). A small supermarket is 1.6km by car/bike and the traditional village centre is a little further, home to a bakery, butchers, tabac alongside a couple of places to eat. There are more cafes and restaurants towards the coast alongside surfing schools, tennis courts and an 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones. Moliets-et-Maa’s vast sandy beach is only 3.7km away.
Another gem of this area is Courant d’Huchet, just north of Moliets-et-Maa, that flows from L’Étang de Léon towards the Atlantic ocean, perfect for paddling and swimming. Discover pretty walks through the Réserve Naturelle du Courant d’Huchet and learn all about the flora and fauna on a guided boat tour of the 12km long natural wonder. Also nearby, Étang de la Prade and Étang de Moliets are two further protected nature reserves ideal for walking, cycling and fishing (permits must be obtained from the tourist office).
There are forest walking and cycling routes from your doorstep – hire bikes as a great form of transport and follow the network of cycling paths, La Vélodyssée, that connect the forests, ocean and villages of the region.
Come across other glorious surfing spots along the Côte d’Argent from Plage de Mimizan (53km) to the north and the trendy resort of Hossegor (25km) to the south. Of course, the Belle Époque town of Biarritz (78km) is also famous for its surfing beaches from Anglet to Guéthary via La Grande Plage.
For a change of scene, spend the day admiring the Basque architecture and picturesque riverside setting of the small city of Bayonne (63km). Slightly closer to home, experience the thermal spring waters and mud treatments in the historic spa town of Dax (35km), just over half an hour away.
