Rent Villa Thais France
Holiday Home Rental Description
Surrounded by nature, sand dunes and the Atlantic ocean, this impressive contemporary abode is set amongst the pine trees and welcomes up to 6 guests with its stylish interiors and heated swimming pool, just a short cycle from vast sandy beaches.
Close to the sweeping Landes coastline, with endless cycling and walking trails through the pine forest, Villa Thais enjoys a wonderful location in a domaine only 2.5km from a much-loved seaside village. Flooded with light from its large windows which seamlessly open out to the decked poolside terrace, admire the sense of space, comfort and design across the open-plan lounge and kitchen. The owners have created a high-end gym with the very best equipment whilst a sauna and wine cellar both add an extra touch of decadence. Meanwhile, each of the three bedrooms feature a king or queen-size double bed and en suite shower room.
Swim along the 12m long heated pool or simply laze back on a sunbed or by the outdoor lounge backed by towering pines. The summer kitchen is the perfect spot for al-fresco meals at any time of day, especially as the sun sets on warm summer evenings.
With the forest on your doorstep, hire bikes and follow the network of forest trails connecting villages, ocean and forest. Within 2.5km you will reach a lovely seaside resort with seasonal restaurants, café-bars, shops, a cinema and even a historic lighthouse with incredible 360-degree views. Around 6km south is the untouched Cap de L’Homy, a magnificent beach surrounded by nature.
Slightly further afield, enjoy nature walks near Mimizan Plage, take boat trips along the Courant d’Huchet and make the most of surfing opportunities around Moliets-et-Maa and Hossegor.
Closer to home, the nearby coast is also popular with surfers whilst canoeing, kayaking and paddle-board enthusiasts can make the most of gentler watersports on the courant within a short drive/cycle. Discover horse-riding along the beach, tree-top adventures and many ocean and forest walks – this is a truly remarkable part of south-western France!

Close to the sweeping beaches and sand dunes of the Landes coastline, Villa Thais is set amongst the pine trees, part of a domaine of contemporary houses in the forest, around a 20-minute drive south of Mimizan. Fly into Biarritz or Bordeaux, take the ferry to Bilbao or the nearest train station is Gare de Morcenx (or Dax which has direct arrivals from Paris).
Surrounded by the forest, it’s a short drive or cycle ride along the nearby voie verte and across the Courant de Contis to a small seaside resort around 2.5km away, home to a selection of restaurants, café-bars and shops selling seaside and surfing gear. There is also a café with a bakery for picnics on the beach. In July and August a charming market takes place twice a week selling delicious local produce. The resort even has a characterful cinema where an annual film festival takes place in June and a lighthouse, designated a historic landmark, with incredible 360-degree views.
Collect sea shells, paddle and swim or make the most of the surfing opportunities here. For gentler watersports, look out for canoeing and paddle-boarding by the courant whilst there are also ample hiking and cycling routes through the forest. A horse-riding school and a tree-top adventure centre are both around 4km away – galloping along the beach is quite an experience!
Further south is the smaller resort at Cap de L’Homy (6km), easily reached by bike (and car), again backed by the towering pine forest. Often referred to as one of the Landes coastline’s most idyllic spots, the beach and dunes are relatively untouched so your surroundings are beautiful – just sea, sand and forest! It is another popular spot for surfers and other watersport enthusiasts whilst keen walkers can make the most of the gorgeous coastline.
Heading south, discover nature walks, boat trips and water-based activities around Étang de Léon and the Réserve Naturelle du Courant d’Huchet, close to the much-loved village of Moliets-et-Maa (35km). Hossegor (58km) is a paradise for surfing enthusiasts or continue as far as Biarritz (107km) for a fantastic day out.
Closer to home, the beaches of Mimizan (28km) are stunning and there is a lovely nature trail by the Étang de la Malloueyre. Meanwhile, visit local villages and towns for markets in Saint-Julien-en-Born (10km), Lit-et-Mixe (13km) and Léon (29km) alongside marchés nocturnes in the height of the summer including an atmospheric evening market at Saint-Girons Plage (25km) on a Tuesday evening.
