Villa Ivory is located very close to the centre of Saint Spiridon and its lovely bays. The main beach is only five hundred metres from the villa and enjoys soft sand and calm, turquoise water. There are two tavernas and a mini market. There are many villages nearby including Perithia, Acharavi, Avlaki, Apraos and the lively Kassiopi.
The dramatic Mount Pantokrator overlooks Kassiopi. With pretty narrow streets, a stunning harbour, the ruins of an ancient Byzantine castle and an excellent array of cafes, tavernas, restaurants and shops, this once-quiet fishing village is a must-visit. Kassiopi boasts breathtaking views out to sea towards the Albanian coast. Visitors enjoy delightful, tranquil walks around the headland.
In the centre of the north coast, you will find Acharavi, a delightful resort which also enjoys a wonderful variety of shops, bars and restaurants. These are sprinkled along the central street and along the beach promenade. Acharavi’s 3km golden sandy beach stretches the whole length of the town. Visitors enjoy a wonderful selection of beach bars. There is a water park that is only a seven-minute drive from the villa.
Avlaki Beach sits on the other side of Kassiopi. It is a tranquil resort with a pretty pebbled beach that enjoys dappled shade from the pine and olive trees that are sprinkled along it. Avlaki Beach enjoys some watersports and a few tavernas that serve delicious food.
Paleokastritsa is rumoured to be the mythical island of the Phaeacians and the Bay of Paleokastritsa is the place where Odysseus disembarked and met Nausicaa for the first time. The monastery in Paleokastritsa dates back to 1225 and is home to an interesting museum which houses the holy and precious relics of the monastery. It stands on a sheer hillside brimming with trees and olives facing the deep blue sea. The resort is very hilly and nestles beneath the folds of steep verdant slopes of olive groves and citrus orchards. Saint Spiridon is the most famous beach in Paleokastritsa.
The ghost village of Old Perithia is close to the villa. On the slopes of Mount Pantokrator, at an altitude of 650m, Old Perithia is a wonderful place to visit. The village was originally established in the 14th century, during the Byzantine times. Most of the buildings were built in Venetian style but today most are ruined. In the central square, there are some tavernas open.
The vibrant Corfu Town is one of the most populated towns in the whole of the Ionian Islands. The entire old city is declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Corfu Town’s unique charm, sophistication, character, atmosphere and fine dining should not be missed. The town’s stunning architecture enjoys many influences including Sicilian, Venetian, French and English. This beautiful town is sprinkled with elegant mansions, magnificent palaces, beautiful squares, majestic fortresses and the very best selection of gastronomic restaurants.
