A colourful market can be found here on Wednesday mornings, with a fabulous selection of local produce, artisanal crafts and some delicious street food – we recommend the fresh, piping hot pizza slices! If you’re keen on seeing the local sights on two wheels, Umbertide is also your nearest location for cycle hire shops during your stay. Famous for its choice of mouth-watering eateries, Perugia can be found just thirty minutes south of Casale Rustico. This vibrant hilltop city makes for a great day out, with cool boutiques, bustling shopping malls, restaurants and bars rivalling most in Italy, with many fascinating layers of history to be explored beyond the Umbrian capital’s chic and contemporary first impressions. The most spectacular example can be found when exploring the remains of an ancient underground city, accessible from Perugia’s historic centre.
