Rent Villa Esotica Italy
Rental Description
Nestled between imposing extinct volcanoes and beaches on the beautiful island of Salina, you will find Villa Esotica. Sleeping 12 guests across three modern and refined suites with impressive living spaces and a vast garden, this is a beautiful place to stay for a break on Sicily’s Aeolian Islands. If you are looking for an idyllic holiday location which offers beaches, historic sites, incredible hiking routes and sumptuous local cuisine, then why not try Salina, the second largest island in the UNESCO World Heritage protected archipelago. The island is small enough to feel tranquil, away from the hoards of tourists on mainland Sicily and yet there is enough to see and do here to keep everyone in your party entertained. If you are searching for a spacious, sea-view home with high-end interior design and manicured outdoor spaces, look no further than Villa Esotica. Throughout the home you will see bold colours, antique furnishings and art works which have been curated by a Milanese gallery. This home has been carefully, lovingly furnished, and decorated to offer the finest accommodation to guests who will sleep in the three exclusive suites. The home’s ground floor boasts communal areas, including a large living room, a dining room and a modern, fully-fitted kitchen. One of the suites is also set on the ground floor. This suite has two double bedrooms, which each have chic en-suite bathrooms. The suite also has a living room and a kitchenette, so you can prepare light meals and coffees without entering the larger kitchen. Upstairs, there is another suite with the same layout but its own design and colour palette and a third suite offering an in-room roll-top bath where you can unwind in a bubble bath after a busy day. When the weather is fine, you and your party can spend most of your time outdoors in the lush, oasis-like garden. There are covered pergolas for dining, a private heated swimming pool and a terrace where you can enjoy a glass of local wine and soak in the sea views. When you wish to pick up some groceries or enjoy an evening aperitivo, you can simply stroll out of the garden and into the village of Malfa. This pretty, coastal village is brilliant to have so close and has a good range of amenities including shops, cafes and restaurants. You can also access scenic walking and hiking trails and two gorgeous beaches around 1km of the house! The island of Salina has two other towns you can explore, San Marina and Leni, as well as smaller villages. Nature lovers will enjoy hiking up the island’s twin peaks, Monte Fossa delle Felci and Monte Porri, which are former volcanoes in a verdant landscape. If you would like to discover more of the Aeolian Islands, you can do so on boat trips which are great fun for all ages.
Please note that whilst Villa Esotica is near Eastern Sicily it is actually located in Salina in the centre of the Aeolian Islands. The island can be reached from Sicily by ferry from Milazzo.

Villa Esotica is set within the idyllic village of Malfa on the island of Salina; the second largest of the Aeolian Islands, which lie off the coast of Sicily. Offering Sicilian culture as well as the island’s unique charm, character and tranquil pace of life, this is an excellent place for an Italian escape where you can rest and recuperate with your nearest and dearest. From your base at the villa, everything on the island is accessible within a 10km drive or by using the local bus route or taxis if you prefer not to hire a car. This means that while you are on holiday here, you will be able to get to know the island quite well and pay visits to the three main centres-Malfa, Santa Marina and Leni- as well as the extinct volcanoes, pristine beaches and internal countryside. The Aeolian Islands are made up of seven different islands, and not only has Salina been voted the most beautiful of this archipelago, but it was voted Italy’s most beautiful island in 2019 and is a haven for celebrities and fashion designers who head here for privacy in the summer months. The home is set in the village of Malfa, so this is where you will find the nearest amenities. This stunning village is a picturesque scattering of homes, shops and hotels that slope toward the sea. The pastel-coloured buildings of the village are surrounded by fig trees, citrus trees and grape vines, which grow wildly around the streets here. Between the vine-covered hills and the beaches is a pretty piazza with a historic church and the Museum of Emigration. You will also find trendy bars and a range of restaurants which sell plenty of dishes containing local capers. You can easily reach two beaches from the home- Spiaggia dello Scario and Spiaggia di Malfa Torricella, each around 1km away. These beaches offer incredible sea views and wonderful scuba diving spots, and though they are rocky, you can hire inflatable mattresses here for sunbathing. Another place you could drive to for dinner or to pick up some groceries is the port town of Santa Marina which is 6km away. This lovely town has artisan shops and a great range of eateries. From here, you can also head out on volcanic treks or spend the day at the stunning Spiaggia di Santa Marina beach. The port here is where you can embark on small boats or ferries for day trips to the other Aeolian Islands. There are full-day trips which take in many of the islands or trips to just one, such as Panarea, which is small and yet is known for its nightlife and parties which take place here in the summer. Panarea is also known for its amazing dive sites and picture-postcard beaches. Please note that whilst Villa Esotica is near Eastern Sicily it is actually located in Salina in the centre of the Aeolian Islands. The island can be reached from Sicily by ferry from Milazzo.
