| 2 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

Forming part of a complex consisting of 7 villas, Villa Pizzico is ideally nestled near the beach in the southeast of Sicily. With the beach at your doorstep and a gorgeous swimming pool, you’ll make incredible memories here.    Villa Pizzico is a self-catering and independent holiday home which can accommodate up to 4 guests in two bedrooms. Every corner is designed with meticulous attention to detail, with elegant materials such as wood, stone and glass, while comfortable furniture and artwork complete the pared-back rooms. The kitchen and living and dining areas are open-plan, creating a communal space where loved ones can enjoy cooking, eating or watching TV together.    Guests staying at Villa Pizzico can indulge in the resort’s first-class facilities, such as the beach club, restaurant and a wine cellar offering wine-tasting experiences and the opportunity to purchase bottles in the villa or at home.   A short drive will take you to the local village, Marina di Ragusa, with many restaurants, supermarkets, shops, a promenade by the beach, and a marina from where you can embark on boat trips around the island.   Holidaymakers shouldn’t miss a visit to the hilltop city of Ragusa. Soaking up its old-worldly atmosphere while strolling around the crumbling buildings full of Baroque architecture is a must, and you’ll find many cafés and restaurants around.   Sicily is a unique island with a diverse landscape, meaning there’s something for everyone. Many tourists enjoy discovering hidden coves or hiking Mount Etna, the active volcano. Furthermore, the island’s rich history can be explored by wandering through the archaeological sites or visiting its UNESCO cities – think Noto or Syracuse, for example.   Those looking for more hustle and bustle should head to its capital city, Catania, with a famous central square, a richly decorated cathedral, and boutiques, markets, restaurants and bars offering the best balance of fun and relaxation.

This superbly modern and comfortable villa is located in a seaside resort on Sicily’s southeastern coastline, just moments away from the beach and a charming local village.   The Mediterranean is only a short walk from the villa, with golden sand and sapphire-coloured water fantastic for swimming and snorkelling. Summer cafés and bars are scattered across the seafront, serving delicious beverages and snacks. For something more filling, head to one of the many restaurants within a short drive where you can try local dishes like arancini, caponata and pasta con le sarde.    Ragusa is a charismatic hilltop city divided into old and new parts, each sprinkled with impressive architecture. In Ragusa Ibla, the old town, you’ll find the Duomo di San Giorgio, a grand church with paintings and stained-glass windows, sweeping views from the Giardino Ibleo and a public park with churches and fountains. In Ragusa Superiore, the city’s more modern part, is the ornate Ragusa Cathedral, with a museum of religious art and relics.   Sicily prides itself in having many UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which attract tourists worldwide. One of the notable ones is the town of Noto, with its Palermo Opera House and an abundance of churches and cathedrals. Its main gathering square is home to an enchanting Fontana dell’ Elefante statue and an ornately decorated Catania Cathedral, both worth lingering for.   Nature lovers can indulge in Sicily’s verdant landscape of rocky coastlines, dunes, peaks and lagoons. The Vendicari Nature Reserve is a diverse protected area that stretches over 1,500 hectares. Follow the walking trails that take you through the reserve. If you’re lucky, you might spot flamingoes, herons and dunlins, among other wildlife.    The show’s main star is Mount Etna – an active stratovolcano on the east coast between the cities of Messina and Catania. You’ll easily be able to spot this dark mass looming over the surrounding area, and with plenty of walking trails suitable for all levels, it’s an excellent option for a day out. Walk through lava fields and flow caves to admire fascinating rock formations, or take the cable car to the top to enjoy unspoilt views without having to complete the hike!
