Rent Diodoro Italy
Holiday Home Rental Description
Stay in elegant splendour when you vacation in the lovingly renovated, early twentieth-century, double-fronted Diodoro villa in Marsala on the west coast of the Italian island of Sicily. This impressive detached, two-storey villa has four spacious bedrooms and can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests in some style. The villa would be perfect for a family holiday or a group of friends’ get-together. The property has its own formal Italian gardens, a meticulously manicured lawn, and a private saltwater swimming pool. Diodoro has all the mod cons, including partial air conditioning in the sitting room and bedrooms, complimentary Wi-Fi, satellite TV, and private parking through the electronic gates. The exterior is impressive, with a raised ground floor and a set of steps on either side of the shuttered front door. The interiors are exquisite, retaining the original cool stone tile floors and high-barrel ceilings. They are furnished with classic formal pieces, contrasted with contemporary bathrooms and a kitchen. Enter the villa through the shuttered doors, where you will find a beautiful holiday home. The sitting room has a sofa, armchairs and a satellite television. The blue and white kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances you will need to cater for your stay, including that must-have morning coffee maker and a garden-view veranda. Two formal dining areas have heavy wood tables, sideboards, and armoires for seriously splendid indoor entertaining. A staircase leads to a delicate Majolica tiled garden and Sicilian countryside view wrought iron balcony. There are four well-appointed double bedrooms, all with air conditioning. Two bedrooms have double beds and ensuite bathrooms with showers, hand basins, and WCs. There is a bedroom with a double bed and a bedroom with twin beds with a small balcony. They share a bathroom with a walk-in shower, hand basin and WC. The gardens are gorgeous, populated with tall, shady palm trees and a centrepiece, a step-entry saltwater swimming pool surrounded by inviting sun loungers. As dusk falls, meet at the patio seating for cocktails before dining alfresco with dishes freshly grilled on the barbeque.

The impressive villa Diodoro enjoys panoramic countryside views towards the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea and Mount Erice in Marsala on the west coast of the Italian island of Sicily. Trapani-Birgi International Airport is only fifteen kilometres northwest of your holiday home, and the nearest beaches are a short drive to the shores of Marsala. Spend the day sunbathing on the popular Lido Signorino or Boeo, swim and snorkel, then test your water sports skills: windsurfing, kitesurfing, and sailing. Take a hike or ride a bike and go bird-watching at the nearby Stagnone Lagone Nature Reserve, known for its saltwater pans. Swim and then dine in one of the many bars and restaurants overlooking Egadi islands, where you can take a boat trip. The town of Marsala is famous for its eponymous wine. Explore the local vineyards and learn about the process, then enjoy a specially paired dinner in one of the local trattoria. Wander the narrow streets of the old town, visit the beautiful Baroque Marsala Cathedral, see the Flemish tapestries in the Museo del Arazzi, and take a walk around the Archeological Park, home to the ruins of the ancient city of Lilybaeum. Go further afield and visit the must-see ancient Greek sites and ruins of Selinunte, Trapani, and the Valley of the Temples at Agrigento.
