Rent Villa Alagoas Portugal
Holiday Home Rental Description
Villa Alagoas is a four-bedroom, four-bathroom holiday villa in the western Algarve, uniquely positioned between Burgau and Praia da Luz.
As you enter the living room, you will find large French doors open inward, adding to the spacious and sun-filled interior. The space is a perfect example of how Villa Alagoas perfectly combines bohemian beach chic with a modern Mediterranean interior. White-washed walls and white tiled floors contrast with earthy touches of natural wood, a woven rug and a wooden coffee table.
A large cream sofa and two armchairs centre the space and look out over the garden to the deep blue Mediterranean Sea in the distance. The living room has a working fireplace, so if the nights turn cooler, guests can cosy up and enjoy the view with a glass of wine.
Adjoining the living area is the dining room with a large wooden dining table and chairs seating eight people. There are also two sets of double doors which can be opened to access the terrace outside, which has pool, garden and sea views.
Guests love to prepare their locally bought produce in the large, fully-equipped kitchen. Tastefully decorated, the kitchen has terracotta tiles and fixtures and fitting in neutral, earthy tones, in keeping with the villa’s aesthetic.
The natural aesthetic carries into the four bedrooms, which boast wooden floors and crisp white walls. Each room is spacious and has a large bed, a wardrobe, natural fixtures and ample sun streaming into the space. The bathrooms are also tastefully decorated with colourful tiles blending with modern fittings.
Heading outside, guests will find themselves spoiled for choice for outdoor seating areas. The terrace has two sheltered outdoor dining areas with six seats, a sheltered poolside bench, sun loungers, and an outdoor sofa. Steps lead down from the terrace to the garden area, and the kidney-shaped pool with sea views is one of the highlights of the property.

The villa is located almost 5km from Praia da Luz, one of the Algarve’s most picturesque beaches, which has been awarded the much-coveted EU Blue Flag status. Spend the day sunbathing, relaxing, or getting active! Praia da Luz has fantastic calm-water conditions for some popular watersports. Think windsurfing, waterskiing, jet skiing and wakeboarding for those who enjoy thrill-seeking. Meanwhile, younger visitors or those who prefer a more leisurely activity can enjoy banana boats and tubing or stand-up paddle and kayak tours around the coves and bays. Sun worshippers can pull up and rent a beach chair and parasol and visit one of the several restaurants or cafes on the beach when they get hungry.
Keen walkers can visit Rocha Negra. A unique feature of the beach, the black rock was formed around 150 million years ago from cooled lava from the once-active volcanoes near the nearby town of Monchique. Hikers who reach the top will be rewarded with a stunning sunset and views over the Atlantic Ocean.
History and culture enthusiasts will be in their element in Praia da Luz. Roman remains of a spa and fish salting tanks dating back to the 3rd to 5th century are one of the many highlights and are free to visit.
Under 3km away is the small fishing town of Burgau. As tends to be the case with fishing towns, the beaches and restaurants have a more authentic feel to them, with the beach widely considered one of the best family beaches in the area by locals. Like Praia da Luz, it’s also been awarded EU blue flag status, and its calm blue waters make it a great place to paddle board. Unlike Praia da Luz, Burgau Beach also gets a few more waves, which makes it a great spot to practice beginner surfing!
Despite being small, both Praia da Luz and Burgau give many European destinations a run for their money when it comes to food. Fresh seafood is one of many options for visitors, along with Portuguese tapas, Indian and Pizzerias.
