On the island’s northern coastline, Stari Grad is one of the oldest towns in Europe, located only four kilometres away from Villa Stari. Encompassing ancient winding streets, quaint laneways filled with flowers and plenty of Mediterranean charm, the town is the perfect place to visit for a quiet afternoon spent wandering along the promenade, followed by a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant. Originally constructed at the beginning of the 13th century, the fortress was reconstructed in 1579. Today, it is home to a small museum with an impressive collection of historical artefacts discovered around the island. The panoramic views from the top of the fortress are truly spectacular.
