Rent Chateau Cote D’Or Bourgogne
Holiday Home Rental Description
In a lovely setting overlooking vineyards, in the village of Puligny-Montrachet, Château Cote D’Or is a beautifully restored family home in an ideal location for exploring this stunning part of Burgundy.
The family château dates back to the 15th century and has recently undergone a remarkable transformation which has resulted in a charming place to stay. The limestone walls and large oak door remind you of the château’s rich past, yet the home now has a contemporary yet classic feel. 21st-century features include Apple TV and an amazingly well-equipped kitchen, perfect for keen chefs to create a Burgundian feast. Each of the six double bedrooms has an ensuite bath or shower room whilst kids will adore the spacious dorm-style room under the eaves at the very top.
Outside you can gaze at the views of the vineyards as you enjoy leisurely meals al-fresco or relax on the terrace, perhaps drinking one of the most famous white wines of the world which is produced in the surrounding vines. On cooler evenings, dine by candle-light in the elegant dining room, followed by board games or films in the cosy TV den.
Here you are in the heart of the Côte de Beaune’s wine region, with many wineries and a couple of restaurants, including one with a Michelin star, within walking distance. Indeed, private wine tastings can even be arranged in the château’s own wine cellar or head to some of France’s most famous vineyards so near.
Follow the Burgundy wine road, Route des Grands Crus, visiting idyllic villages such as Pommard, Volnay and Meursault, all within ten minutes. The most famous wine-town of all, Beaune, is 13km away where you can admire the stunning historical buildings, enjoy the atmospheric market and try one of the Michelin-starred establishments. Better still, head to Chagny, only 5km away, to dine in its 100-year old restaurant with 3 Michelin stars!
There’s also cycling along nearby canals, horse-riding in the beautiful countryside and hot-air balloons over stunning landscapes. This is Burgundy at its very best and Château Cote D’Or offers a warm and inviting home from which to enjoy this fantastic region.
There is an adjoining apartment available sleeping an additional two guests – please enquire for further information.
Please note that due to the layout of the château, the old stone spiral staircase can also be used by the adjoining apartment. However, each floor can be locked.
The dormitory style bedroom is only really suitable for up to 3 children.
There are some low beams in the bedrooms on the top floor under the eaves.
