Hidden away on the private Lower Mill Estate nature reserve, this cottage was built for the hosts in 2003 after they visited the site and fell completely in love with the stunning surroundings and excellent onsite facilities. As you sit on the home’s balcony or the secluded south-facing terrace underneath and gaze out at the willow trees and water lilies on the pond, you’re sure to see why. The home’s interior is just as peaceful, with a log burner in the living room, a spa corner tub in one of the bathrooms and lots of natural light from the tall windows. However, the relaxation doesn’t stop at home, as there is also an onsite spa only a short walk away where you can get treatments, swim in one of the three pools or sit in the sauna and steam room. It’s just one of the multitude of extras that guests can enjoy with a stay here, which include use of the 3G multi-use games area, on-site walking trails, fishing, kayaking, watersports, yoga, pilates and other classes, to hiring a private chef and pints at the local pub – and the onsite restaurant is only a short walk away. Alternatively, you’re more than welcome to book a game of tennis, wander the hundreds of acres and spot wildlife, or rent a bike for a leisurely countryside ride. If you’re lucky, you might see some of the beavers that were reintroduced to the site as a UK first.
