Inside, you’ll find sparkling chandeliers, a four-poster bed and classical sculptures — were it not for the glistening Caribbean Sea in the distance and the smell of tropical plants in the air, you could fool yourself into thinking you were in an aristocrat’s LondonTownhouse/Apartment. There’s an almost dizzying choice of ways to spend an afternoon here. In the two acres of grounds, there’s a huge swimming pool and a tennis court, plus the golden sands of Mullins Beach can be reached in five minutes by foot. If that all sounds too exerting, then simply relax in one of the two gazebos painted in Messel’s trademark shade of sage green and doze off to the sound of the waves just beyond. Best of all, you won’t have to lift a finger as the villa’s staff — including a chef, housekeeper and butler — are there to make your stay completely stress free.
