Long Cove House United Kingdom
Holiday Home Rental Description
Perched metres from the idyllic South West Coast Path, Long Cove House is a home away from home in England’s breath-taking South-West. Cornwall is renowned for its rugged, rolling coastline, with beautiful beaches spread down the miles of coastline. The house sits at the base of the Trevose Headland, which juts into the Atlantic, commanding endless views along the coast. Walking trails wind around the headland, with paths aplenty stretching right out from your garden, so you can head out the moment the sun starts to shine and to top it all off, the picturesque Long Cove beach sits practically at the end of your garden; what more could you want?
Long Cove House is set within a luscious garden, with matured trees, a vibrant lawn and private parking for multiple cars. The house itself is traditionally styled, with a warmth and cosiness to it that encourages you to curl up and relax the moment you step inside. Sleeping up to eight guests within its four bedrooms, it is the perfect getaway for a family holiday, with communal living spaces bringing you all together at the times that matter most.
Spread over two floors, each room boasts views of the picturesque surroundings, from snippets of the garden to vistas over the Sea. The ground floor boasts the main living areas, with a bright, airy kitchen and an open plan dining area tucked next to the garden doors. The kitchen itself is fully equipped, offering all you need to prepare your family favourites with ease. Our favourite spot in the house is in one of the rocking chairs poised next to the Aga, with a glass of wine in hand a good book next to you, all your worries seem to melt away. There are two twin bedrooms on this floor, each with the same comfortable furnishings and both of which share the adjacent shower room.
Stepping upstairs, the traditional décor is consistent, with the stairway opening up into a spacious living room. Equipped with a wood-burning stove, evenings are best spent up here, enjoying quality time with your loved ones. The views are unparalleled, with picture frame windows capturing the juncture between green fields and the blue azure of the Sea. There are two double bedrooms and a family bathroom on the same floor, benefitting from the same mesmerising vistas, so you can wake up and gaze out upon your retreat.
Long Cove House sits within its own beautiful garden, just metres from the idyllic South West Coast Path and Long Cove Beach. Based at the foot of the Trevose Headland, which juts into the Atlantic, commanding endless views along the Cornwall coast. Walking trails wind around the headland so you can explore this rugged, rolling coastline from your own holiday home, making the most of every moment away.
Located 15km from Wadebridge and 18km from Newquay, the house puts you in a brilliant position for exploring the best Cornwall has to offer. Think endless blue skies, glistening beaches and wildflower-strewn clifftops. Famed for its warm climate, diverse Celtic heritage and wealth of arts and archaeology, there is plenty to explore during your trip. Newquay is the surfing capital of the UK, whilst St Ives, an hour down the coast boasts white sand beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters.
For beach lovers, the area is well known for its water-sports, in particular surfing and sailing. So, pack your own equipment or hire some at the beach, heading out to explore the waves. Cornwall also offers a popular rock-climbing scene, off-road cycling and of course walking. Whichever vice you choose, you will be sure to experience some of the most beautiful natural wonders England has to offer. The South West Coast Path, which runs for hundreds of miles along the West Country southern coastline is a sure way to see some of the most vibrant towns, remote cliffs, beaches, farms and fishing villages. Another beautiful walking path is the 125-mile Cornish Celtic Way, mapped by a local 55-year-old clergyman, which will show you a wilder, and more romantic side of this luscious county.
When it comes to food, you cannot let your trip go by without trying a Cornish pasty and some delicious sweet Saffron buns. Some Cornish Clotted cream and Ice Cream will satisfy your sweet tooth and for a drink, the three major breweries of St Austell, Sharps and Skinners serve excellent beer in pubs throughout the county. Because of the mild climate, Cornwall also has several vineyards producing delicious wine, we particularly like the local honey wine!
To get to the house, there are ever-improving roads and trains running right down to the far south-west of the county, as well as Cornwall Airport Newquay (NQY), which is less than 10 miles from the house. The nearby airports of Exeter (EXT) and Bristol (BRS) offer a wider range of flights than Newquay and are usually significantly cheaper and more frequent. Car hire is available at all three airports.
