Nestled just outside Dunkeld Perthshire with extraordinary views overlooking the delightful wooded Birnam Hill, lies the newly built Oak Tree Cottage. Charming and humble, the cottage beautifully has an aura of seclusion and intimacy whilst still being a mere 5 minutes drive to the historic town of Dunkeld.
Recently built, this country cottage has been designed with beautiful craftsmanship and modern sensibility at its heart. Guests can expect a wonderful blend of modern and traditional material; handcrafted wood features are dotted around the home, including a stunning feature staircase, contemporary finishes and heaps of technology.
The interior is glorious.  The ground floor is adorned with a magnificent staircase, hand-painted wall artwork, antique furniture, and welcoming touches throughout – The open plan dining and living room offer the ideal space for socialising with amble inviting and comfortable seating for the family. The ground floor also offers a bedroom with King-size or two single beds, a family bathroom and a cosy snug to relax in at the front of the house. While the kitchen has French Walnut cabinetry, black and grey granite top surfaces, and is fully equipped – perfect for whipping up a feast.
The spacious open plan room has two large sliding doors opening directly onto the polished stone terrace with outside seating for ten people, a BBQ and a firepit. The terrace is the spot to take full advantage of the picturesque views.
The first floor consists of the master bedroom with a super king-size bed and en-suite bathroom. There is also an additional third bedroom with a super king bed and one single bed, which can also be set up as three singles with an en suite bathroom. All bedrooms offer the flexibility to be set up as king beds or single beds.
Outside, guests can soak up the stunning views from the terrace, take a refreshing dip in the hot tub or let the kids enjoy the outdoor climbing frame. The immediate countryside is lovely, providing a rich mix of activities, marvellous walks, riding, fishing and golf at one of the nearby course.
Many visitors are attracted by the elegant atmosphere and significant associations of the area. There are many nearby attractions, including Scone Palace, Gleneagles or more locally, the oak woods on the lower slopes of Birnam Hill, as mentioned in Shakespeare’s Macbeth. This is also a remarkable spot to marvel at views over Dunkeld, Birnam and Strath Tay.
