Set in a peaceful neighbourhood with sandy beaches only five minutes by car, Villa Marzanna is a wonderful holiday home for those looking to truly relax yet have the delights of the beautiful and historical city of Split so near.
On the ground floor of a three-storey villa, the apartment is contemporary and stylish with a modern kitchen-diner leading out to the glorious gardens and a cosy living area with sumptuous sofas and a Smart television. The master bedroom has its own terrace whilst a further double and twin bedroom, all sharing a bright family bathroom, make this an ideal holiday home for all generations. There are contemporary features throughout such as Wi-Fi, air-conditioning in the living space and televisions in two of the bedrooms. The discreet owners, who sometimes reside in the apartment above, have taken every care to ensure guests have everything they need.
Outside you are met with splashes of colour in the beautiful gardens, space for children to run around and a sweet little playground. Seek shade in the glorious summer kitchen where you can grill the local catch on your barbecue or dine under the stars from the al-fresco terrace poolside. You can see the spectacular mountain scenery as you swim in the heated pool. With ample space and various terraces, the gardens are a magnificent feature of this lovely holiday home.
It’s just over a 2km drive down to Stobreč where you will find idyllic beaches and sporting activities plus a great choice of restaurants and bars. It’s hard to believe you’re only 10km from historical Split, Croatia’s second largest city. Step inside Diocletian’s Palace (a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the world’s most impressive Roman monuments) and you’ll see dozens of bars, restaurants and shops thriving amid the atmospheric old walls where Split life has been humming along for thousands of years.
Whether you favour a relaxed beach holiday or you want to explore the nearby towns and cities, Villa Marzana is the perfect choice for family and friends to enjoy this magnificent part of Croatia. Villa Marzanna is in a quiet neighbourhood with a beautiful mountain backdrop, just fifteen minutes drive from Split. There is a walking path along the nearby River Žrnovnica heading inland which leads to a delightful restaurant and water mill in just under 2km or follow it down towards the coast and golf course. It’s just over 2km down to the coast at Stobreč where you will find sand and pebble beaches, restaurants plus golf and tennis courts.
Stobreč is a beautiful and scenic peninsular surrounded by crystal clear sea on one side and pine woods on the other. The town offers many sporting activities, including tennis, golf, water sports plus walking and cycling tracks. Similarly, there are restaurants, shops, bars and clubs offering a perfect combination of daily essentials and holiday treats!
Just a short drive to the east, Podstana (5km) is a charming tourist town situated at the foot of the mountain Mosor with beautiful views and surroundings. In recent years, Podstana has developed into an elite suburb of Split with stunning beaches and swimming platforms plus hiking and biking trails inland.
Split (10km), Croatia’s second largest city, is a great place to see Dalmatian life as it’s really lived. Step inside Diocletian’s Palace (a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the world’s most impressive Roman monuments) and you’ll see dozens of bars, restaurants and shops thriving amid the atmospheric old walls where Split life has been humming along for thousands of years. Around the city, explorers and visitors can find gorgeous, secluded sandy beaches sprawled against rolling green nature, palm trees and rustic olive groves, an idyllic retreat, perfect for picnics and relaxation. Split offers a fabulous balance of tradition and modernity, creating a fun and exciting atmosphere for a day trip.
A short drive in the other direction will take you to Omiš (20km) where you will find a great array of sporting activities from canoeing and rafting to rock-climbing and canyoning. The Venetian fortress that looks out over the town from the hillside and a 17th century parish church are charming landmarks worth a visit. There are some beautiful sandy beaches in this area along the Omiš Riviera.
Other brilliant day trips include an excursion to the beautiful island of Brač, which can be reached by boat from Omiš or Split or drive to the lively town of Makarska (60km). Here, Kacic Square comes alive in the summer, especially at the time of the summer festivities from mid June to mid September when there are open-air theatre and music performances, cinemas and exhibitions. The town has a vibrant feel with its vast numbers of cafes, restaurants and bars plus an exciting night-life well into the early hours.
