Villa Retja I is an immaculate, first class holiday destination. There is even space to moor a boat if you have one! It is situated on the beachfront in a small, new development in the pretty village of Slatine on Ciovo Island. The development has a gym that you can use 24 hours if you wish. The spaces in the villa are huge and furnishings superior. It is a wonderful destination for two families that want to holiday together but have a little private time. Otherwise, it would suit an extended family group or a group of friends. Everything is so pristine and exquisite.
The picturesque village, Slatine is on the northern coast of Ciovo and is just 6km from the beautiful historic city of Trogir and only 11km from the airport. The views across to the fabulous Split Old Town and the stunning Marjan peninsula are lovely with the moody mountains in the background. What a sight to wake up to! Villa Retja I looks so inviting with its honey-coloured walls and glistening pool and terrace. The vast windows and doors make it so light everywhere and of course, offer those spectacular views. Boats bob along in the azure Kastela Bay and look so pretty! The villa is just 5 metres from the beach. Most of the beaches on Ciovo are shingle or pebble and backed by fragrant pines. The pool and terrace are perfect for catching that lovely holiday tan! The covered part of the terrace has a barbecue and deluxe dining suite for delicious alfresco meals. The open-plan living, dining and kitchen area on the ground floor is awesome, opening through two sets of doors directly to the terrace. The deluxe kitchen boasts state-of-the-art equipment and has a helpful breakfast bar. The sofa corner sofa is so comfy! Of course, this 5-star villa offers full air-conditioning and excellent wifi and satellite TVs. The villa is so sleek in design and very calming. The modern staircase takes you to the second floor with incredibly spacious bedrooms and dazzling ensuite bathrooms. The second magnificent open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is on the third floor, as well as the remaining exquisite bedrooms and bathrooms. The balcony is another wonderful spot for alfresco meals with a lovely dining set, barbecue and astonishing views. There are six bedrooms in total, all with wonderful king beds and first class linens. The dazzling ensuites are a mix of baths, walk-in showers or both. The villa also has a 100 sqm secluded roof terrace with captivating views to die for!

Villa Retja II, which sleeps twelve. These holiday homes can be rented in combination with one another, making them perfect for larger groups.Slatine is a peaceful village with a lovely beach, several bars and restaurants, a bakery and a small shop. The villa is just metres from the beach and 100m from a café and shop. The busiest place on the island is Okrug Gornji. It has a 2km stretch of pebble beach with many restaurants and bars, an inflatable fun park and great watersports facilities. The Trogir Diving Center operates from Okrug Gornji Beach with first class diving equipment and instructors. You can arrange discovery dives for beginners as well as 5-day courses and snorkelling trips to discover the amazing fauna and flora around the island. Some dives go directly from the beach and others from boats. Arbanija is very picturesque. The Monastery of St Cross, built by the Dominicans in the 15th century, hosts a treasure of valuable artworks and books. There are restaurants and taverns. It is a pleasant stop for walkers and bikers. A regular bus goes from Slatine, through Abranija to Trogir. Day trips from Ciovo are often taken to Primosten and Sibenik. At Primosten, the old town is situated on what was a small island connected to the mainland. Now it is a peninsular. It is very pretty with lovely beaches and restaurants offering Dalmatian specialities. It has good nightlife too. 25km from Primosten is Sibenik which is the oldest native town in Croatia. It is located at the mouth of the river Krka and is dominated by the St Michael’s Fortress. Trogir is so attractive, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage recognised city. The old quarters sit on a tiny island. Romanesque architecture sits harmoniously with the Baroque and Renaissance architecture. The Chapel of St John at the Cathedral of St Lawrence, Kamberlengo Castle and the Cipiko Palace are all worth a visit as well as the charming cafes and restaurants that line the narrow little streets.
