The dazzling Villas Delphine enjoy a wonderful location in Gennadi in the unspoilt south of Rhodes. Villas Delphine consists of two separate buildings, each beautiful, contemporary and offering superb, luxurious accommodation. Both of the buildings are offered as one package, ideal for groups of friends, two families or a multi-generational family taking a holiday together. Each of the buildings offers two bedrooms and gorgeous living space including sofabeds that can sleep an extra two guests. The outside space is just heavenly with a fantastic swimming pool with hydromassage, alfresco dining and a delightful tropical garden. In total, Villas Delphine can sleep up to twelve guests if you use the sofabeds.
The villas are just 300 metres from the nearest beach. Gennadi holidays are relaxed, laid-back and all about living like a local. This ancient fishing village is very charming with narrow streets and traditional tavernas. Gennadi’s beach spreads for miles either side of the village with an excellent watersport offering and some fantastic beach bars. Gennadi is just thirty minutes from the whitewashed town of Lindos which is overlooked by its famous hilltop Acropolis. The ruins tell the story of the island’s past with remains from the Roman era, an ancient Greek temple and a castle built by the medieval knights of St John. Lindos is very pretty and full of unique jewellery and handicraft shops, boutiques and vibrant bars. The UNESCO Old Town of Rhodes is an hour away at the other end of the island.
Each of Villa Delphine’s buildings offer a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, two luxury bathrooms, a contemporary kitchen and a fabulous open plan living space. The kitchens are sleek and stylish with gorgeous tiling and excellent appliances. Guests can relax on comfy sofas in front of a feature fireplace, watch movies on the wall-mounted television and dine in style at the modern dining table. Both of the sofas open into beds for extra guests if required. Doors open to the alfresco dining area, terrace, pool and garden.
A modern staircase takes you upstairs to the bedrooms, one a gorgeous double with fine linens, beautiful soft furnishings and direct access to a furnished balcony and the other a delightful twin. Both enjoy access to beautifully tiled shower rooms.
The outside space of Villas Delphine is just magical. The swimming pool offers hydromassage and is surrounded by a terrace, luxury loungers and a tropical garden. There are two alfresco dining areas, both shaded by contemporary sail canopies. How lovely to be able to choose dining spots! There is an excellent built-in barbecue kitchen too! Villas Delphine enjoy a fabulous position, just five minutes walk from the nearest beach in Gennadi. In the south of Rhodes, this location is excellent and very chilled. Gennadi boasts an excellent selection of shops, bars and restaurants or you can head to the historical Lindos for a whole lot more. Gennadi is very friendly and offers an excellent sand and pebble beach. You will find a mix of contemporary, modern villas set against old fashioned Greek tavernas.
Half an hour away, Lindos is one of the island’s prettiest towns, all dazzling white and hints of blue. The town is overlooked by the Acropolis which should not be missed. You can even hitch a ride to the top on the back of a donkey! The gorgeous narrow streets of Lindos feature charming shops and bars plus an excellent dining scene. With a beautiful beach, Lindos really is a coastal gem.
Rhodes Town sits at the far north with its wonderful churches left by the Byzantines and a gorgeous harbour that was one the site of the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. You will discover an intricate warren of busy little commercial streets and delightful, quiet alleys. It is the oldest inhabited medieval town in Europe. The Old Town is full of Byzantine and Gothic churches, medieval buildings, mosques, traditional fountains, oriental motifs and many boutique shops and restaurants. The highlights of the Old Town are the Palace of the Grand Master, the Archaeological Museum housed in the Gothic building of the Great Hospital of the Knights, Knight’s Street and some of the mosques.
Twenty minutes south of Rhodes Town on the the east coast, Koskinou is famous for its beautifully painted, colourful houses and its summer festival on 17 July celebrating the name day of St Marina with music and dancing. Visitors enjoy delicious traditional cuisine in the local tavernas as well as yummy local wines. Koskinou is an exciting labyrinth of tiny, winding, cobblestone streets with fabulous splashes of red, blue, yellow, green, pink and turquoise. You feel so alive and happy meandering through the lanes. The facades, doors and windows of the 17th and 18th century neoclassical houses are bright and cheerful, many with carved or etched designs. Small patios and gardens complete the pretty picture. You won’t be able to resist peeking in! Many of the whitewashed squares are draped in colourful bougainvillea and other flowers. Kosinou enjoys an interesting history since the 4th century AD. Its 13th century medieval castle and the chapels built in the 4th century are worth visiting.
Another Rhodes wonder, Kallithea, is situated against a setting of world famous spa baths and stunning beaches on the eastern coast of Rhodes. Its gorgeous inlets and coves are sprinkled with sculptured rocks and caves. Diving and snorkeling are very popular as well as the other watersports on offer. The Kallithea Spa was built in 1920 by the Italians. Following its restoration, the spa is a top sight. Many guests visit the area for its crystal clear azure waters and magical scenery.
Faliraki Beach is the most popular and most highly organised beach in Rhodes. It is more than 5km wide and offers fine golden sand, trendy beach bars, sun loungers and parasols, just about every watersport imaginable and even bungee jumping. The nightlife is incredible with fabulous restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
