Rental Description

You had us at the spa pool! This is what you will be saying when you choose to vacation at the beautiful Villa Hector, set in the exclusive enclave of Aleomandra, on the southwest coast of the jet-set island of Mykonos, the jewel of the Aegean Sea. Set on the cliff edge, this incredible two-storey detached classic Cycladic villa stares out over the azure blue seas to the horizon and beyond. Villa Hector has four double bedrooms, and can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests, ideal for a large family gathering or a group of friends sharing.
The property is set in nine hundred square metres of gorgeous gardens, populated with tall pine and palm trees for shade, and indigenous shrubs for colour in season. The stylish accommodation is divided between the three-bedroom main house, and a separate one-bedroom guesthouse, with an extensive sea view terrace, and your own private spa pool. Villa Hector comes complete with parking for two cars, and complimentary air conditioning and Wi-Fi throughout. The house is built of traditional whitewashed local stone, with Majorelle blue shuttered windows and iconic Cycladic domed room interiors. The villa is light and airy, and the interior décor mirrors the vista, bringing the seascape colours indoors, think billowing white curtains, and soft hues of marine blues. The furnishings are charmingly tasteful, country house meets seafront villa, to create a luxury holiday home.
The main house is spacious two hundred and thirteen square metres, with a bright and breezy ground floor open plan living space. The sitting room has powder blue sofas, rustic wood coffee tables, hessian-covered chairs, a flat-screen television, and an open fire for the cooler months and evenings. A raised platform is home to a formal round dining table and chairs, with original antique cabinets, perfect for some impressive indoor entertaining. The domed roof cream kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to cater for your holiday, and should you wish, the concierge team can arrange your very own private chef. On the ground floor, there are two exquisitely appointed ensuite bedrooms, a double room with a balcony, and a twin room with sea views. Take the stairs to the first floor, where you will find the Master Suite. The suite has a double bed, seating area, separate dressing room, an ensuite bathroom and kitchenette, and a panoramic sea view balcony. Under the main house is the independent Guest House, with an ensuite bedroom, and a sitting room with a kitchenette, with doors that open onto the outdoor seating area. The bedrooms are dressed with COCO-MAT linens and come with complimentary Zealots of Nature natural amenities.
Step onto the terrace, where you will be greeted with breathtaking cerulean blue sea views. The star of the show is the centrepiece Multitude 600 spa swimming pool, with Briare aqua tiles, and a teak decking surround. The pool has a powerful cross-current swimming section for one or two people, and a water and air hydro massage seating area for up to four people. Ideal for those who like a proper cardio swim, and a relaxing therapy session afterwards. Modern mesh sun loungers sit on the teak decking, perfectly positioned to maximise those stunning sea views. A pergola-covered Mediterranean blue and white soft seating spot are so inviting for an afternoon snooze in the shade. Before sunset take a stroll around the well-maintained gardens, then enjoy a sundowner on the terrace. Eat alfresco under a starry sky at the elegant outdoor eight-seater dining set, and raise a glass of local wine to the most memorable Mykonos holiday.
Villa Hector can be found in the exclusive area of Aleomandra, a peninsula on the southwest coast of the jet-set island of Mykonos, part of the Cyclades, in the heart of the Aegean Sea. The island of Mykonos measures only ten kilometres long by fifteen kilometres wide, so wherever you want to go it’s only a short drive away. The villa is just five kilometres from Mykonos Airport, which is served by both local and international flight operators. If you are island hopping, then the nearby islands of Naxos and Syros also have their own airports. The nearest beaches of Ornos and St John are but a kilometre walk away.
The village of Ornos is near the villa, with two beaches, streets lined with traditional tavernas, and a harbour with boats that can take you to local beaches and nearby Delos. The coastline is populated by many beautiful golden sandy beaches and beach clubs, take your pick from the fashionable Buddha Beach Bar, the family-friendly favourite of Agios Stephanos, or party, party, party all day long on hedonistic Super Paradise Beach, with its crystal clear waters, restaurants, bars, and clubs with resident DJs. During daylight hours seek solace in one of the eight hundred churches that populate the island, most notably Paraportiani, which is a unique construction combining four styles of architecture, or nearby the church of St George Spilinnos, uniquely built into the cavity of the rocks.
Mykonos town, known locally as Chora, is a five-minute drive away. Here you can wander the maze of streets with colourful Cycladic houses strewn with beautiful bougainvillaea, and do some serious designer label shopping in one of the many luxury boutiques. Enjoy a moonlit dinner at a seafront restaurant of freshly caught seafood, whilst sipping ouzo, and watching the beautiful people pass by. Find out the island’s history and culture at the Archaeological Museum, the Folk Museum, and the Maritime Museum, then go out slightly of town to Lena’s House to discover how the islanders lived. Take a walk up to the landmark windmills, or as they are known locally, Kato Mili, where once the wheat was ground to make bread, and is now a mini museum and residencies. Walk along the waterfront to Little Venice, where the original and colourful merchant houses overhang the sea, and is now home to cafes, bars, restaurants, and galleries, best enjoyed at sunset with a retsina or two. Admire the Armenistis lighthouse, still fully functioning and an essential asset of Mykonos’ maritime history.
No visit to Mykonos is complete without a day at sea, join a catamaran jolly and snorkel in the sea. If you’re feeling flush, charter your own yacht and discover secret coves and hidden bays and beaches. For the romantics, nothing beats a sunset cruise, cocktail in hand as the sun sets over the horizon. Hop aboard a ferry for a day trip to the adjacent island of Tinos, see the landmark Renaissance-style Church of Panagia Evangelistria, tilt at windmills, visit the fifty villages, walk the ancient fortifications, and coo at the famous dovecotes. Just across the sea, the uninhabited island of Delos is well worth a visit, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the birthplace of Zeus and Leto, go with a group or arrange your own private tour.
